Just Here For The Pie

Now, I am not a big fan of Lost Planet. I might have played the first game for ten minutes, tops.

I am just confused as heck watching this:

... And reading this.

Marcus and Dom are one thing, but Wesker? What are they thinking?!

What do you guys think?
Stupid, epic, or nothing new when it comes to Capcom and their mash-ups?

I want to know what they were thinking with this whole game. I looked it up, and the science is retarded. The giant bugs create thermal energy, which you can harvest from their corpses so you can shoot your guns?! Have any of these developers ever taken a science class?

It's because Capcom developed both Resident Evil and Lost Planet. I wouldn't mind if I see Jill Valentine in it, or even Frank West.

Marvel vs Capcom anybody? Although Capcom unrelated, there's a Spartan from Halo that's in Dead or Alive 4, and a Hayabusa Armor (based on Ryu Hayabusa) on Halo 3.

See, I know that, but it is still a pretty obscure idea. This is not a spin off, this is a direct sequel. It just makes you question the story of the game.

Games like Soul Calibur have always had third party characters, but those games also do not include any sort of story.

If you need a Frank West in a mash-up game fill, try Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom.

I believe they are just multiplayer skins (Though I feel uninformed about Lost Planet 2). Capcom made Wesker and Jill Valentine playable in Mercenaries Mode in Resident Evil 5, and including new (or old) characters such as Barry Burton and Rebecca Chambers (From Resident Evil 1), also including Josh Stone and Excella Gionne playable (Resident Evil 5 NPCs). They are not playable in the Single/Co-op campaign.

I thought Josh was going to be one of the playable characters in Desperate Escape next month? When playing Co-op, you will have your pick between Josh and Jill.

Can they not make up new characters?? I recognize wesker and the guy from gears of war.
I played the demo and it was pretty lame.
Such as, in the beginning there were flying things destroying everything, then once we landed, we fought them and one hit them. Pretty stupid. And that's just one example.

He is. I always wanted to play as Josh when I first saw him at the elevator part. And you can rescue him when a majini grabs him, just as how they'd grab Sheva or Chris. Though his melee attacks were similar to Chris, making him a skin. I'm glad he has new moves when playable. Excella, Rebecca, Barry, and unknown others that are unannounced will obviously not be at the campaign. Unless Barry makes a hilarious cameo towards Jill Valentine in the Mansion. Speaking of which, I may purchase that DLC on the 17th of February (Today).

I thought the demo involved a boss fight in co-op with four different space pirates (players) in different costumes, in which you could enter its mouth.

I am going warn you right now. Lost in Nightmares is short, but pretty sweet if you enjoy the classic suspense feel of the franchise.

So far, Barry is my favorite mercenary. His melees and finishers make me laugh, and he is equipped better than the others. However, Warrior Chris has the Hydra shotgun like the in-game Mercenaries special Wesker does.

You're right, it's way too short. But it was still fun, especially the puzzles. I also like how the door works, instead of just opening/kicking it/destroying them, it's like the classic door of opening and entering in first person. I'm wondering if this hints the features it will be in Resident Evil 6 (Which would take Capcom years, 8 years they mentioned).

Barry is such a badass, especially with the iconic magnum. Jill Sandwich anyone? I didn't try Excella yet. I'm waiting for Rebecca Chambers and Josh Stone to see how they function. Yes, there are videos but I want to control them.

The demo goes like this:

-You and your team of 4 land in some forest like place
-Their are a ton of flying creatures when you unload off the boat
-these creatures act as 'birds' if you will. they attack RARELY and can be one hit.
-You travel up to mid level of the FIRST level for a fight with a higher tier creature/mini boss fight
-You destroy it and move into the the last stretch of the level, their are a ton of these low tier creatures that are slow and only mediumishly aggressive.
(you can run right through it until you reach the end zone, the end zone can EASILY be confused as some playstation 1 "don't go here/map ends here" barrier)
-You finish the first stage and you get a grade based on points and such

-SECOND level starts and you fight the same type of creature that you fought in the first stage as he comes out form the ground in a surprise attack. Ez.
- their are 6~ heavily aggresive raptor like creatures that are extremely agile. Fucking medium tier.
- If you ran through it and get to this stages end zone you end up fighting rolling, armored, 'armadillo' like creatures. fucking low-high tier
-End stage 2

-Stage 3 starts
- Gigantic amphibian-dinorapesaurus comes out of the water. Supreme tier.
- Most if not all weapons in the game are available here( I assume), including the robot suits.
- Blow up his back, legs, and tounge. Then after you've throw every rocket launcher and V5 version of shotguns and assualt rifles you jump into his body and try to destory his 'core/heart' or w/e. His digestive fluids constantly push you towards his end parts. It's possible to get eaten and NOT destroy his core in the first try so he poops you out through his teal(?) anf you need to try to get back inside his body.
-Also his insides are filled with the pods that produce the creatures seen in the first stage.

By the time I finished this Demo I thought this game was fucking win. I enjoy epic boss fights and this demo left me wondering what kind of hideous and gigantic creature would be the stopping you from completing this game. I'd imagine it would involve shrinking your self to directly take out the creature atom by atom with Robotic suit with Akimbo V5 Nuclear war heads. Or your bear hands. I enjoyed it. Really, the thing that makes Lost planet decent is it's creatures IMO. The guns were nothing new. They had things like shot guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles and Rocket launchers. I think that's the only weapons they have except you can fine V5 version of the weapons. a V5 Assault rifle is essentially a minigun. a V5 Shotgun is more like a flakgun, etc etc. But the creatures are awesome. The mini boss creature you encounter twice is fun to kill and almost seems puzzle like how you have to aim for certain parts of creatures (this idea is used for most creatures I'm going to assume after playing the demo). The way the raptor like creature dodges also makes things better. Constantly having to aim for it's head while it dodges my reticule is nice to see since that is hardly ever done in other games. At least in the degree this game did it.

tl;dr if you are looking for a game that you wanna waste your time on for it's campaign. I'd do it.

Also for somereason when you play co-op in the demo the third or second player who joins your game gets to be the unit who has a sword so I assume their are different types of unit types you can play as but since it's a demo I guess they wanted to limit it to one player per team and someone who plays a certain slot? w/e

The science is a bit weird. Everything that lives is made out of yellow gelatin. And you collect it... and if you switch your grenades you can throw this stuff but i'm not entirely sure what the point of throwing creature juice anywhere helps with anything.

tl;dr for the tld;dr

No newb. Their is more to it than that.

I was on rank 94 on Co-op Professional at Lost in Nightmares out of over 7700 players. Though somehow I have been pushed back to over 100 a few days later.

Oh yeah? I played my second run on easy to get the S rank no problem since I knew my way around by the second game.

I ranked #13 on the leaderboard for easy mode for about five seconds before I started getting pushed down. (lol)
Granted, this was the morning of the release.

Easy/Amateur?

Except that, my partner and I never really died and hardly got hurt, shot all stars, killed several, but not all Guardians of Insanity and it was on professional, and beaten at about thirty minutes. Also, not on release day.

This one time at the underground section, my partner and I killed two Guardians of Sanity at the same time.

I hope you are referring to the part where you need to crush the enemy with the spike traps.

I love that part. My partner and I did the same on his veteran run. He lured two over, and I dropped the spikes on both. However, one of them caught the ceiling/floor as it fell, and the other was making his way out. So, in an epic attempt to get both at once, I threw a flash grenade to stun the escapee, and my partner gave him zee uppercut to fling him back under the spikes. Just in time to have the other one's strength give out, no-less.
