Position of Units inside a Dropship

Hey, I have a dropship with two 1x2 units and two 1x1 units and I want them to be positioned so that the dark templar is on the very left, the hydralisk is on the very right, and a marine and samir duran are in between them, but the marine is on top and the samir duran is on the bottom. This way, the dropship will look like a wasd directional pad. Unfortunately, just shoving the units in the dropship makes it very disorganized. Is it possible to obtain a desired formation inside a dropship?

Run the tests in a specific order.

DT -> Marine -> Samir Duran -> Hydralisk
DT -> Samir -> Marine -> Hydralisk
DT -> Samir Duran -> Hydralisk -> Marine

etc.

If nothing works, it probably can't be done.

EDIT: Wait a sec. I'm pretty sure that larger units are always moved to the left. That seems to be the only preference.

I order you to forgive yourself!

Large units (Zerg Ultralisk, Terran Siege Tank...) are always at most left, then goes the medium units (Zerg Hydralisk, Protoss Dark Templar...) are next and the small units (Terran Marine, Zerg Zergling...) enter at the end from top to bottom.

Alright, if apos' theory is correct, then it can't be done. Thanks for the info.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

AFAIK, this is going to be a testing situation. I've never actually bothered with this. However, take a look at a few maps, such as rush, aerial combat, and stacked lurker defense to see how this was achieved.

I'm pretty sure if you unload one unit then load it back in, it will be in the same spot. That means if you load then in a specific order, they will always be in that order. The way you get them in that order is to pre-place them in a line, then order them into the transport. You can also create unit, order unit, detect when unit is in transport, make next unit, etc...

This isn't a particularly simple test imo, and it is better to ask. Obviously if you don't know HOW to test it, then there's no way to test.

Also, yes, Apos is right. Bigger units are always on the left.

You should consider using small units only, and using color coding to get that keypad:
BGB
GGG

You can create units with black wireframe. Check the wiki on the details.

Wow, fantastic idea. I am definitely going to implement that.

I'm only here because they patched SC1 and made it free.

They won't always be black though. Sometimes they'll be red.

You can use unit sprites to obtain pretty much any color you want, if you preserve the ratio. And they aren't Zerg.
