Another update:
Placed two min patchs of 0 mins in each back expo and went through the cliffs to make sure tanks can't fit there.

it's better, but one of the problems i was referring to was the large size of the mains... i mean you could build a mini base there and your opponent wouldn't even notice.

No one else seems to have a problem with the main sizes.

I'd like a second opinion before making the change.

Main sizes is fine in my opinion.

Mains are fine. There's no real point to shrinking them since the middle is also good on size.

Looks pretty much done...I can't think of any more changes.

Circular Ruins looks good.
Since when did devilesk start making decent maps?

teal seems to be the only one to defend its minerals, by having some extra space behind to place cannons, spores or turrets.the others have that disadvantage, but possibly less chance to have anything dropped behind the mineral patches, so... slight imbalance there.then again even if teal dint have that extra space, it would also be the only one voulnerable to a muta micro attack.

btw I read in the topic description taht these were really old n00b maps, to my eyes these maps dont look n00bish at all, perhaps you might want to edit that :P

Well, they STARTED out noob maps, but he improved them drastically.

Sep 12 2007, 2:01 am yenku Post #36

yeah, for tweaks, consider changing teals mineral line so its horizontal and the base is above.

I cant get over it, maybe im thinking of some of puni's maps, not yours.

I felt these maps were really well made and thought out. The creativity, thinking, and skill they require are not only fun to play, but cannot be remade by newbie plagarizers.

I haven't done anything related to SC in a while, but I'm starting to feel like melee mapping again. I want to "improve" Turtle Land :P Any ideas or a list or problems?

I might also put up some of my other noob maps I made way back then that would be candidates for improvement.

The sword and the faith

The only way I see Turtle Island working is as an air map, unless you really redo the whole map, and in the process it would no longer be the same map.

I can rework the map in whatever way necessary. I don't care if it's not the same map.

I also made this before I found out about the backwards ramps people made, so I can see those definitely being put to use. It would fix the imbalance in the distances between bases going north to south versus the distances going east to west right? And it's too easy for terran to just keep tanks on the highland in their base because they'll be able to cliff all of the land in the middle and those paths right?

sounds like moisture control is often a pressing concern in your city
