:payne:

The terrain really deceived me and there are some errors here and there.
The details like terrain transition aren't very well polished either.
The hotkeys were not user-friendly. Re-arrange them if possible so they fit with a better and more relaxing hand-position. "A", "3", "4", "Y" and "Space" would be appreciated much since they make your hand feel just like simply opened, no stress at all.

Otherwise, the concept is very nice and I'm pretty sure this will get much better than its actual form.

Also, look out for the in-game messages. Colors when applied into the editor appears to apply for the whole text, but they really only apply to a line. The others will simply be (in-game!) of default color (Cyan), which looks unprofessional. Try to clarify the color code more too, it is a bit unclear for now.

Good luck! :D

Well, the reason I didn't focus too much about the transitions are because I wanted to fit as much as I can in the terrain. (You're talking about the jungle section, right?) Not many people will really notice it, anyways. You're special :D

What is so wrong with the hotkeys? Q, W, E and D are all within your fingertips' reach. Z, X, C and V are all beside each other, so its easier to remember them. If the spells are too low for your fingers, then what are some alternatives? "A" won't work because its used for attack. "3" and "4" can't be used because the EUDs mess up if something is hotkeyed on the number. "Y" is pretty far away from the rest >.< . If you can suggest other hotkeys, I would appreciate it.

So you weren't impressed? :-(

Yeah. I didn't change some of the texts' colour. I used cyan for the my previous dialogue, so I made the rest of the text as cyan. I then changed the storyline and changed all of the dialogue to white, but the rest of the text is still in cyan. I'll change it all to white.

New hotkey proposal:
x
r
t
k
space

"You're special :D" Yay! ^^
"you weren't impressed?" Not by the terrain :P The rest wasn't really original, but it is still much nicer than 95% of the RPGs out there. ^^ <3

I don't think payne has a QWERTY keyboard.

:payne:

It goes as follow (on my keyboard):
QWERTYuiop
asdfghjkl
zxcvbnm

I call that a qwerty keyboard ^^

Btw, hotkeys should also be:

x
r
t
u/j/k
spaceu

That is not a natural position for the hand over the keyboard.

:payne:

Starting from the pinky's position on the left hand:
x, r, t, h/j/u, space (being the thumb)
Come on, that is the perfect hand position on a keyboard :O

It's an OK position on the keyboard, but would be more confusing than just a generic qwerty or something.

Hell yeah, another singleplayer rpg.
This looks very solid and I like how you can examine/talk to people voluntarily, though I'm not sure what the strengths of dividing the terrain into blocks are, easier to design each area? Also can monsters move through the blocks?
Dividing the terrain into different pieces can have many benefits. You will never lose track of your hero since the screen is always centered on it. When navigating through the terrain, you can't just click at the destination and let the AI do the rest. It also gives a kind of "roomy" feel, as if one part is different to another. It saves up locations, too. Monster's cannot move between them, though.

In regards to progress, I'm finished with most of the terrain. Just a few slides to go. I have to add in some monsters with their spells, kill scores. etc. I am currently working on the first boss, which will include a pulling mechanic in it. More details on that soon.

Awesome, I thought you had given up on it. This is the RPG for the contest that looks the most interesting so far.
