K so I was saving all the work I did with my current map and an error popped up and said
"Something bad happen, save (something forgot) file" (like memory dump or something)
so I pressed ok
and then it was like
"Memory dump file saved to appdata/local/temp report this blah blah"
Nooks and crannies error and now this random error out of nowhere. Working on a map is easy, working on it with a thousand errors is what makes it challenging (and frustrating grr)
Anyone have any idea what this is and how to fix?
None.
Yeah, I've had the same problem. Find the installable file for scmdraft 2 and reinstall your editor. Also, make sure to delete your backup database. Both of these solutions have worked for me in the past.

K so after failing to find my Scmdraft download file (no idea where it is xD) I deleted my backup database, and to my surprise the error didn't pop up again!
Also, I was wondering why my total space on my computer was rapidly dropping for like no reason. After I deleted the backup database it went up like 4 gigabytes @_@ (was about to dip into single digits of gigabytes)
Well good thing this was a quick fix. I never use backup that much anyway (only used it like once before) and it takes up a ton of space. So I'll probably delete it more often.
If the problem returns I'll say, but for right now It's fixed ty ^_^

save often, save a new file each time.

Problems happen whenever the Backup Database gets massive (like you saw). Usually this happens because the map you're working with a huge map file because of sounds. I would decrease the autosave rate.

Ok this might be bad. Last time I was able to delete the backup database to make the map work. However this time it's being a whore and won't let me open the backup database. Is there some folder where I can delete all the files in the backup database?
None.
You can just delete the entire file, it's in your SCM Draft folder under Backup.DB
None.

In your Scmdraft folder delete the backupDB files.
None.

Can you tell me where your Scmdraft folder because I think I lost mines and have no idea where it is xD.
None.
No idea where you put it, if you used the installer it should be under C:/Program Files/Stormcoast Fortress/SCM Draft 2
Alternatively, right click whatever shortcut you've been using to get to it, and go to Properties, and click the Find Target.. button, that should bring you to it.

C:\Program Files\Stormcoast Fortress\ScmDraft 2 is where the installer puts it

The installable scmdraft file is somewhere on the internet.. I don't remember where and don't think the files on stormcoastfortress are installable, just unzippable.

K I opened the file by going to properties and find target. Brought me to a folder with weird contents.
Inside were:
ScmDraft 2
trigedit help
trigedit readme
dbghelp
then a plugins folder
inside that was trig edit
which one is the backup database @_@
None.
If there is no file called "backupDB.scmdDB", then you don't have a backupdb right now, as it should be in the ScmDraft 2 folder.
You probably already deleted it.
None.
If that's the case then the backupDB isn't the issue here

Are you sure? Everytime I work on maps for a couple days I lose about a couple gigs gradually over time. Thought it might be connected with the backup database since I didn't delete the files inside it in a while.
Also I noticed something. The error has a title of "Trigedit" and one of my files in the plugin folder is called trigedit. Is it that?
None.
It's always an error with Trigedit(at least in almost every case), even if it's unrelated.
None.

Well, not to be rude, but if you come here asking for help you shouldn't need to ask "are you sure". If I wasn't sure on something I would have told you. In my opinion, your best bet is to reinstall scmdraft 2. You might want to try to update to a newer version, and I've also heard that some older versions are much more stable than the newer ones.

I have version 0.8.0.0 which one would you recommend?
