In the meantime, I'll go over the math for why townies have a good advantage. If the townies lynch another townie today, then lose 2 at night, then lynch another of their own, then lose 2 at a night again, there will be 3 townies left and 2 mafia. And, even after all that, all they would need to do is lynch correctly on that day and they'll have a 3-1 advantage, and a 2-1 advantage for the final day where they would need to correctly lynch the mafia. And this is pretty much worst case scenario. If you kill a mafia in the next 2 lynchings you'd be in a dominant position.

Well, as I said - a mafia-kill's what I consider 'lucky' or 'intelligent' in any case.
Either it's down to the chance of a coinflip ( at the very best a 50% chance ) , or it was done using the clues and knowledge available ( in other words, 'intelligently' ) .
