DLDB:
My original thought is that the DLDB could, through portals and tags, easily separate SC1 from SC2. It should do a decent job of it, however, I'm thinking this is a completely unnecessary hassle.

Fights over titles?
Forums:
I'm pretty sure we'll have to merge things or something needs to be devised. Unless you want 50 forums.
I don't think I like the idea of UMS assistance being for both SC1 and SC2.
My thoughts right now is to isolate each game. The Starcraft nav tab will stay there, just as it is and there will be a new Starcraft 2 nav tab with the same scripts, basically the same purpose, but for Sc2. I'm pretty sure this is how I will go. I still want to hear your opinions though.
And I still want some kind of battle plan on the forum situation.
Preparation is my goal.
None.
My statement to that: (Well, it's IP's idea, too)
SC 1 > SC 2 but not everyone thinks so.
How about making the first page as a "choose between Starcaft and Starcraft 2" site? behind the starcraft page this current SEN is displayed. The linkf rom SC2 goes to another version of SEN where the forums are for SC2 etc.

What about the same navigation but you click two links you can either go to SC1 link or SC2. That or you could always switch "tabs" between both games?
fuck you all

So like, clicking on the SC1 tab would only load sc1 forums, and the same for sc2?
What if no tab is selected? Show them all?
None.
ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO
Show SC1 as default the first few months and then set SC2 as default.
fuck you all
I'm beginning to doubt that SC2 will truly beat SC1, but we'll see..
None.
Meh, not really sure. I think your idea was pretty good purity, or under community you could just put SC2 Forums, but that's probably more work than it's worth

Melee map makers can include their maps in the Map Production, etc. Modding should just get it's own section apart from the SC1/2 sections, I think.
Just a thought. And as it stands now, I think we have 19 non-clan forums. This list has 20, so it wont be a huge change number-wise.

I think that forums having to do with SC2 mapmaking and mod making should replace the positions that are currently held by SC1. Keep the Other section how it is, I suppose. There could be an option on the menu at the top of the forum to access the SC1 help section, which could be the destination and permanent home of the moved SC1 sections. That way, they're still available to those interested, but they are out of the way of the (likely much more popular) sections devoted to SC2.
None.
I believe to the SC2 boards should have some kind of priority or greater ease(up-front) of getting to than the SC1 boards. How this will be done idc.
SeN v6 lolol
Start it now, and release when sc2 is out.

Um, not only do I think that we're getting ahead of ourselves but we have no idea how active SC will be after SC2 comes out. Yes we can
assume it'll bring it down to Diablo activity levels, but we don't know for sure. I think activity should dictate how the setup goes. We don't even know if the SC2 editor is going to be all its expected to be. Maybe it'll be hard to use or have a lot of back end problems like WC3. (See Mesk's interview.) And condemning SC1 to an optional collapse at the bottom doesn't seem fair in any circumstance to a game that's given us 10 good years.
Essentially, we should flip the forums we have for SC and SC2 when SC2 is released.
I would go a step further and say we do it as soon as any type SCUM edit is available in any beta form. If at any time it becomes possible to start mapping before SC2 is actually released, we shouldn't hold back.
have tabs in the main section titles box (the boxes you can collapse) and make showing both default until one is selected (or alternatively add Game: to registration and have them select SC1 or 2 as their primary and have a notice go to all current users, anyone not selected in 3 months is inactive and should have their accounts deleted.

Hey that's just a slightly modified version of my list!
I still wouldn't keep a separate Modding section for SC1, I'd have all that in one "Modding" section.

Yarrr. That be what me thinks about ze topic at hand mateys.
Starcraft 2, and Starcraft 1 can be on the same site. Leave them both there till you figure out which one is more popular or if it even warrents having one collapsible or not. If they're both equal, why separate them? :-P
