We live in a society.

Astrogears was made in 2007, not 2008. As was Texas Hold'em Poker. They should not be eligble to win.
Agreed. Did Tux even do any mapping this year? If not, then he shouldn't be qualified.
Later releases of Astrogears (Mk II, etc.) were made in early 2008. If Devilesk's map is eligible, Tuxlar's probably should be too.

Unfortunately, I'm getting the impression Corbo doesn't care much for interfering with results on the eligibility level and if we all voted for Lost Temple it would win.

Tux already won this last year on Maplantis, give sum1 else (azala) a chance.

Dec 22 2008, 5:13 am ClansAreForGays Post #125

I knew about the prior (it had consent & orig credit), but not the latter. I might be changing my vote.

There's people voting for both mappers and modders that didn't exactly do anything this year. Just take tux for example or MA. If I am not mistaken and correct me if I am wrong but they haven't made a map in this year. Does that mean they should not be eligible for the best mapper of the year?
If you think they should not be allowed to be selected tell me and I'll gladly remove all of the people and maps and objects that shouldn't take place this year.

fuck you all

See, the problem is that you don't have to release a map/mod in order to be the best overall. Like MA, he hasn't technically released anything except a demo (as far as I know) and Lethal_illusion hasn't released anything ever.

Maps/Mods that weren't made this year, though, should be disqualified.

I just checked the front page and rory isn't one of the terrainers nominees, I know I nominated him!

Rory is pretty bitchin' with terrain. I put my vote in for him.
Best member goes to NerdyTerdy. :P
Best n00b would be candle12345. Too bad he hasn't been active, and he joined last September. I'll vote Kaias, then.
Best fad creator is Corbo with the Quote DB.
Doodan for staff pick (your relationship advice is hella lulz, even though you refuse to believe that there's a cool ninja named Jack contrary to the evidence I presented).
Best map: FUCK, SQUAD TACTICS DEMO BETA, OMG DUH
Most superfluous use of DTBK's blue goes to DTBK.

Okay, here's my take on this:

Most helpful mapper: Falkoner , NudeRaider a very close second. Couldn't decide from the posts, and Falkoner won because he made more tutorials.

Best mapper: Tuxedo_Templar , MillenniumArmy, again, a very close second. Two points: 1st, a mapper doesn't need to contribute to the map community with a good map This year to get nominated.. he is just THAT good.
2nd: Both Tux and MA makes awesome maps, with awesome triggers, and awesome ideas. While MA has the talent of creating innovative maps such as Wall Ball. And of course, Mini-game Party is basically a brain dump of all his ideas, which is fabulous. However, Tux's map just Wows you so much that I could never imagine creating a map like that. Both Mini-game Party and Rush have a special place in my heart, but if I hadda choose, Rush wow'd me more :).

Best map: Mini-game Party Demo. , Galactic Gunners second. Yes it is a demo, but I've played that demo so much, it was really just THAT good.

Most helpful modder: -
Best modder: -
Best mod: -

Best terrainer: MNeox for the terrain for TS. But all the other terrainers are great. Roryfenrir with that christmas terrain would be second

Best staff: I have been here too little to say.. All the mods seem to fit their place well, like in Serious Discussion, MA always participate in discussion, while other mods erase spam... And of Course, Moosey keeps the entire thing moving... If I really really had to choose, I'd say moose, but I don't have to choose :).

Best member overall: I have been here too little to say...
Worst spammer: idk.. could've been me if I tried :P
Best fight: -
Artist of the year: -

Discussion member: MillenniumArmy . Kinda biased since I've only read 3 threads in the Serious discussion, but I feel that MA's ideas are really solid and he always brings out very good points.

Tech member: O)Farty1billion I know not anyone else :S

Best newb: Been here too little
Best fad creator: Idk, but I do know TS is the largest thread :P.. But of course that's not the "creator", that's the fad, so it doesn't count.
Most superfluous use of DTBK's blue: ???

Lethal's incomplete concept maps "wow" me more than anything Tux has ever done. Tux is way overrated and old news, but the fact that it was so long ago just adds to his inflated mythical status.

As stated before these awards are for 2009 and so we should base our decisions on things the mappers have done in the past year. The only thing that you should consider for Tux is his latest versions of astrogears and his galactic gunnerz. Rush shouldn't factor in.

If Lethal releases Elementa (I hope atleast the name can be told), any map made so far will look like child's play comapered to it. :)

Elementa is one of the "wow" maps I was thinking of when I made my post. :)
