Is that relevant? I could have made this 3 years ago, never showed it to anyone, and never released it. Would it still matter that it was made before the creation of the topic? Perhaps I make random pieces of terrain, without knowing any specific theme, that apply to such competitions? Honestly, I don't see the difference between terrain made yesterday or four years ago, excepting that the piece or map was released before hand.

Personally I think it's incredibly stupid to allow premade pieces of terrain, The whole point of a comp is to have a time limit to creation somthing good.

So a pre-made piece of terrain that was made, say two months before a competition, would have been worked on the entire two months as opposed to working on it a few days and setting it aside for the competition? Either way, terrain isn't worked on every day the competition is open, so a time limit is essentially pointless.

Well, I'd assume it didn't take too long to make it; it doesn't look like a hugely difficult piece of terrain anyway. It's simple, functional, and looks good. I'll accept it.

I love the different levels you've got going there, it almost makes the building look like it's going deeper into the water, very awesome job :P I wantz moar of your maps!

That's pretty cool. I like the metal pole in the middle of the ocean for no particular reason.

it was going to be a light house type thing, kinda like the big radio and cell towers they have all around. I was going to put some flashing nuke dots on it but i couldnt find it on scm draft and i was too lazy to dl starforge for it. anyway thanks

Nuke dots are under unit sprites, I think.
Excellent job. I love the bottom, from rock to building.
Good to see you can still come up with more innovative buildings.

Dungeon Master

So wait, are you accepting previously made pieces of terrain? I made a map that would fit the theme, if you'll take it :P

You can submit it for everyone to look at, but I'm not going to include it for voting. So, to answer your question, no, I'm not going to accept previously made terrain. But you can still post it.

I just had an idea. How about for all future competitions, the deadline is within the week. These two+ weeks are ridiculously long.

Nov 19 2008, 3:14 am Falkoner Post #34

I think 2 weeks is good, I admit that this is a bit long, 2 weeks is good though.

Even two weeks was rather long. I think a week deadline would be good. It's not like it takes a week to make terrain anyway.

I still think It's a bit unfair to submit pre-made terrain.

I never understood how falk was able to submit pre-made terrain from his rpg
but fwop was unable to submit his pre-made work. :\

Is the terrain behind the port supposed to be an entrance under water? It doesn't look much like a bridge to be above water...
