Communism had always kept religion out of politics, why not capitalism?

Large difference. All communist regimes were oppressive dictatorships where freedoms were/still are restricted. In our country, people are free to speak their mind and do what they want. I might think religion shouldn't be in politics, but they have the right to put religion into politics. We don't have the right to restrict that.

Alfa's basically correct, but I'd mention that true communism would have no regimes or dictatorships :P.

True communism only works in theory.

@Alfa: Fariness Doctrine is making a comeback. It's the first step to banning the first ammendment.

I don't recall any surplus or a booming economy from any Conservatives in the past 28 years. It's not like Clinton generated our nation's largest surplus in its history...
Reagan didn't reside over a booming economy? And lets be honest here: Reagan was the only conservative. H. W. Bush was a moderate conservative, and W. is not a conservative. He spent like crazy. And it isn't like Clinton generated our nation's largest surplus in history. The Republican Party did. They forced the budget down his throat.

So i voted today. It was a tough choice, but i went republican all the way with the exception of our president; I chose Obama after much contemplation.

Sad thing is, just about everyone here in Texas knows whose going to win this state... maybe my vote will change all that!

You traitor! Obama is the anti-Christ.

Quite funny though. Texas is a red state and you support blue. New York is a blue state and I support red.

Small villages have practiced communism successfully. It's when you get to a large scale that people start screwing things up.

As of this post, Obama already has a huge lead over McCain -- even without California.

I'd say McCain did exceptionally. He had to try to carry passed Bush hatred while Obama was propelled by it. Not to mention Obama had all of the minority in the bag. Ultimately, it wasn't enough. Good game. I never actually believed McCain could win.

It's very likely I won't be in the US for two of these next four years.

Alright folks, let's see where Obama takes us in the next four years.

In John McCain's "farewell" speech, he did bring up a good point that no matter what our differences are between the two parties, it is important that we set our grievances aside, unite together, move on, and work on making this country the greatest country in the world.

MA, you lucky bastard. You're in a win-win situation whether the US kicks ass or not, because if it doesn't, China does.

I'm waiting for the provocation which was talked about by Biden. Al-Qaeda attack, Russia invading Estonia, China declaring war on the US, etc.
