Any movies you loved recently?
I just watched Push. I haven't seen this hyped or advertised at all, but I thought it was a great movie. 10x better than watchmen, which I found boring and derived of plot.
None.
I watched Push, too bad I didn't get to see the last 15 minutes of it (was on a plane.) Watchmen was okay, it kinda dragged on though, needs more action! Hmm...I watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine and that wasn't too bad, but that's because I love the X-men franchise. I think my favourite so far has to be Star Trek, but that's also cause I love Sylar aka Zachary Quinto.
None.
ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO
The last one I watched that I liked is YES MAN! I've seen many others after but I've been very disappointed.
fuck you all
Recently I've seen The Hurt Locker, Funny People, Bruno, Harry Potter 6, Inglourious Basterds, and District 9.
Of those, I loved The Hurt Locker and District 9. Best films I've seen in a long, long while.
I liked Bruno and Inglourious Basterds. Bruno was funny, but expected. Inglourious Basterds was... ugh Tarantino.
Harry Potter 6 and Funny People were okay. I loved the book, and I don't think Harry Potter 6 did it justice. Funny People was good until i realized it followed the same damn structure Apatow uses for all his films.
Less than recently, I saw Watchmen, Star Trek, The Hangover, and Wolverine.
I loved the Hangover, though it was basically a raunchier "Dude, Where's My Car?" I loved Star Trek a lot... aside from the over abundance of lens flares.
Watchmen was pretty good. A bit too long, but I like the book a lot and I think Zach Snyder did it justice.
I really didn't like Wolverine. I loved the first two X-Men films, hated the third.

I thought the ending of Inglorious Basterds was totally retarded, but the rest of the movie was absolutely brilliant. Hence I cannot give it an 'overall' verdict.
When I go home to Latvia I will definitely see these three movies: District 9, Hurt Locker, Serenity.
None.
I actually really hate Quentin Tarantino, so that was my only issue with Inglourious Basterds.
And Serenity? The 2005 film? If you loved FireFly, you'll probably enjoy Serenity. If you didn't (or have never seen FireFly), you probably wont enjoy it.

I've made a note to myself to watch FireFly first. Thanks.

District 9 is not very good at all.
Inglourious Basterds was awesome throughout. One of the best movie experiences ever.
None.
What didn't you like about District 9?
I loved the style and I especially loved the metaphor. It all just worked for me, personally. You can pretty much guarantee it will be nominated for best picture.

That's what everyone thought for The Dark Knight, and look what happened there. I do really want to kind of see Inglorious Basterds and District 9 though, they look good. My friend also keeps trying to get me to watch Reservoir Dogs too.

I fell asleep for the last ten minutes. It dragged on forever. For a while it was just morbid, and then I got into a little bit, and then it lost me again when around when they got back to the lab. All the details just become really, really questionable. The sequence of events throughout weren't exactly logical. There are definitely holes in the script. It's a dumb, dumb movie.

Which is why they made changes to the best picture category allowing 10 instead of 5 nominees.
Reservoir Dogs is the only Tarantino film I can actually appreciate, probably because it was his first and made before he decided he was a god.

I do not know about you guys, but I am really hyped for Zombieland coming out next month.

What didn't you like about District 9?
It was good until the last third of the movie turned into something directed by Michael Bay.

Sure I didn't pop off on SCBW like I wanted to, but I won VRChat. Map maker for life.

I watched Serenity back in 2005 and didn't watch Firefly until recently. I did love the movie back then
.
Was really pissed off the tv show was only one episode long.
None.
You mean one season long? Yeah, apparently they got cancelled 10 episodes in, so the last 2 didn't even air. Fox is retarded.

Most of District 9 was a slow-paced documentary style, but the Mech was badass.
Inglorious Basterds was extremely slow-paced (the 15 minute conversation at the start was really annoying [especially if you're watching a tele-sync]), the fights were too fast-paced, and 2-seconds long... lacked serious action
I just finished watching 9 (at the 9 pm showing), it turned out how I imagined it— really good and imaginative. Anyone else see 9 on 9/9/09?
None.
I actually have very little interest in 9. I've been jokingly saying I can just play Little Big Planet at home, no need to see it on a big screen. Was it really that great? I've heard it's pretty mediocre.

The most recent movies that I've enjoyed are American Gangster and State Of Play. Recommend them both.
