Woohoo! Let's hear it for internet censorship!
Any other AT&T customers having issues connecting to /b/? Apparently AT&T has completely blocked only that part of the site, and /b/tards are going crazy.

I find this to be ridiculous lulz, but, as Sonic says, "That's no good."

I heard about this today. I have charter cable so it does not really effect me. Someone needs to fight this horrible internet censorship.

Aaaaand it's now unblocked. I think AT&T would have lost customers if this persisted. I assume enough /b/tards have spammed various news sites/channels so this may turn out to be an actual issue.

AT&T vs. Internet: Internet wins?
None.
AT&T claims it was an accident. Kinda.
Just got a call back from AT&T - seems the reason for the block isn't CP. It's because the site is a constant target of DDOS attacks that were routed through AT&T servers. AT&T blocked it because their bandwidth was spiraling out of control."
It seems the problem WAS Anontalk & co after all. AT&T detected the constant DDOSing of 4chan's servers, the attacks were coming from AT&T lines. So they shut off those lines to stop the DDOS against 4chan and stop their bandwidth rape.
Shit's over, go home now.

I've been in the /b/ IRC channel and posting on Twitter all night. It's confirmed to be unblocked, but AT&T has been dodgy and outright lying to customers this entire time. Expect them to say it was an accident, but that's self-contradictory based on earlier statements from their representatives.
None.
My guess was that it was a test of trying to censor the internet. If it had gone well, they'd be more inclined to do it in the future when inevitably people will try to censor the web or charge for access to certain parts. Intolerable. The internet should be free (excluding connection fees, of course) and available to all.
None.
That's certainly a possibility, which is why I'm glad there was this level of outrage. Really it has little to do with 4chan, it's about Internet free speech. I hope this will serve to discourage future attempts at censorship.
None.
Disgusting move. CP is a bannable offense anyway, and the 4chan status page is general knowledge for learing about site attacks. AT&T has lost my trust.

Their were people calling in and asking for what was going on and AT&T specifically said NOTHING was blocked when obv. it was. I kinda wished the block stayed on for longer so real LOIC action could've taken place. ;(
None.
If I remember correctly, it's not that they said nothing was blocked, they were just circumventing the subject and saying it was 4Chan that was blocking AT&T IPs. I know at least 2 customer service people said early on that AT&T did block it due to the DDoS attacks (or whatever the reasoning was), but for some reason the rest claim it was all on 4Chan's side.
Ultimately 4Chan doesn't matter to me, as I rarely go there. My concern is that I'm stuck with AT&T as my ISP because no one else can reach my area with the same level of speed they offer. Hopefully they don't try this again.

Of course it's ATT's fault. 4chan would not entertain the possibility that 4chan might have a hint of a slim chance of there being some justification to someone considering that 4chan might have some characteristics of a cesspool.
Well, Moose, to be honest, as a frequenter of 4chan, it IS kind of a cesspool sometimes. The fact remains that that's no reason for it to be blocked without any legitimate reason or official announcement made, and without even contacting the site admin.

Well it's always been considered to be the asshole of the internet...

Speaking of internet censorship, MAH FRIGGIN' ISP KEEPS BLOCKIN' MAH TORRENTS! I mean, honestly? I haven't downloaded an illegal torrent in like 3 months, but whenever I go to download a perfectly legal one, via torrent for speed purposes, my internet suddenly goes from well over 2 megabytes a second to 100 kb if I'm lucky, it seems that they detect when your upload and download are both high, and then begin to throttle your connection speed...
None.
Oh ya? Bell throttles essentially all torrents at all times to a max of 60kb/s
