Game Mechanics

Bleed Out System
When a team member takes too much damage they will enter a "downed" state. Enemies will not attack downed players but they are unable to move, use items, or attack. You can tell if an enemy is downed by the loss of blood and dialogue from the downed player requesting help. Players will remain downed for just under a minute before they will bleed out and die. It is very important to revive team members as fast as possible. Stimulants must be used next to a downed player in order to revive them.

Items

Stimulant:A very high dose of adrenaline. Used to revive downed team members.

Other Notes

Some of the older members may remember the AE: After Earth map created by ShinRa_Soldier in 2004. This is a completely redesigned and rethought version of that map. The hype surrounding that map came from a trailer made by someone other than ShinRa_Soldier and caused the hype to go way beyond what it should of been. This is why I have decided to put actual gameplay footage in the trailer. I also intent on submitting this as my entry for the "Last Stand RPG" contest. If you have any questions or comments please post them here. Do not ask for character biography's or game mechanics. 12.12.09 is five months away and I will release that information as the development continues to renew interest in the map. Thanks.

Voice Acting? That's awesome.

Also: Do you really plan on releasing 5 different versions of this? It might save you work to just make 2 versions a normal and premium, both of which can be set to different difficulties. Just an Idea though.

Yes, If I can find decent sounding cast members.

and yes, the changes and balance tweaks between difficulties are small enough to not over-burden me but still change the game quite a bit. Adding a trigger system to choose difficulty would just confuse b.net players, delay the game, and break the immersion. As well as being more time consuming to complete (5 different endings in 1 maps takes up a lot of terrain room being that I have plans to make each ending quite different.

So. Explain what this 'bleed out and revive' system is? I'm compelled to know more.

Actually posting a youtube video is pretty attractive, but when I saw the actual gameplay I couldn't be more disappointed. Basically you stand in front of everyone as a meat sheild and heal yourself right before you're about to die. No unit micro, just mindless grinding.

Sorry, although the system is complete in the map. I am not willing to discuss the specific details at this time.

I can understand how you would get that idea from the trailer. Most of the parts during the trailer are roam around and look for items/supplies/next area. Most of the micro and reaction time skills are used during the elaborate boss fights which are not shown. There are other mechanics that make this more exciting and teamwork an essential that I am not going to discuss at this time. I do not show any boss fights in the trailer because I do not want to give away strategies or boss abilities. I want players to figure out how to beat them without my help.

It seems like you've made lots of changes from your other version... anyways when can part 2 and 3 come out
since your first map (beta) said part 1 of 3 :D

yay, is this the updated version since...
the old ae after earth has lots of glitches...

e.g you can only pass an area with a comp

Yes to name a few:
New Delta Team Members (With a few of the old showing up here and there)
No more computer controlled units.
Team member special abilities are very easy to use and are unlimited.
Improved item system.
More/Better Items.
Level up system.
Very High Quality.
Much better boss fights.

And I think I know the part your talking about. The part where you have to go in one door, clear the room, then the door on the adjacent side opens? Its possible to do with the computers but much easier with player units. That part is very hard and is not on the new version (yet.).

This is more of a remake then a sequel. Giving whats left of SC life I don't think I will have time to make AE: Invasion and AE: Retribution. (At least not on SCI)

I don't get it...

MAP UPDATE:
Exactly 666 triggers in (No Joke) and everything is running smoothly. The basic map is a little over halfway done! I still need beta testers and a few voice actors, so please, if you don't mind lending some of your skills Email or PM me.

AE: After Earth has been entered into the 2009 Last Stand Map Making Contest.

Well you stated that you may have to release the other 2 maps that was planned in starcraft 2 so would it be possible to remake those for starcraft 1

Edit : for the premium mode that you stated above, why does it have to be hard mode ;(

Let me tell you what I think after you showed me the map the other night. It looks very nice and well made. I like the system you have for when players die and bleed out. The ultralisk boss I saw was pretty cool and it required teamwork to defeat.

I like the way you set up your information. Appealing to the eye and flows together nicely. I also like the different difficulties, making the game extend its roots further.
Good luck on the map and hope to see it in the show case!
