It's starting again. I'm getting bored of SC and WCIII, and want to continue my game cycle by playing an MMORPG.
. I'm sad too.
I'm looking into Warhammer Online, and could possibly return to WoW. Anyone have any other suggestions (with reasons, preferably)?
None.
DO NOT play MMORPG. If you value your social life, i beg you to not play one.

I don't quite understand what you mean by "if you value your social life."
People can play MMORPGs and can be social.
Anyway..
I used to play a game called Age of Conan with friends and stuff and it was brilliant! The gameplay was fun and I played day and night last summer. If you try AoC and if you are interested in AoE damage, you'll enjoy the Tempest of Set. I played my ToS to 70 and found there wasn't enough end game stuff (purple items and what not) but now they do. So you may enjoy it.

Fuck playing em, make your own. At least thats the outlook and path I took

I looked into AoC, but I heard that they had very few opportunities for higher-level characters. So, instead, I'm trying out WAR first.

I pre-ordered AoC together with a couple of friends. We had big plans within the game prior to it's release. Sadly it was hyped, very very hyped (especially here in Norway, as Funcom is a Norwegian company). I didn't bother playing it for more than three weeks or so.
Tried WAR a bit after the release. Was quite fun to begin with, however the leveling became quite boring and repetetive when you came close to level 20. The "Public Quests" was quite fun though. I gave it a new chance some months ago, and it's even more boring now, as there's a severe lack of people leveling, making the Public Quests impossible unless you got someone to boost you.
When it comes to WoW, well, for every new expansion, the game gets worse. The endgame content is too easy and very boring once you've done it a couple of times. PvP has been broken for ages.
Finally there's EVE Online. One of the greatest MMOs ever made imo. But if you're not a patient guy, don't bother.
I still play WoW avidly, and love it. I go through phases, though, but I can never completely leave it.
I bought Warhammer Online and actually do enjoy it. I prefer WoW's "world" a lot more though (design-wise), so I don't see it completely stealing me at any point in the near future.

EVE, I love it too, I just lack that patience you speak of...and Ragequit as soon as my Thorax got gatecamped as soon as I got it.

Why the tits would you take a Thorax into lowsec if you didn't have the money to replace it?
EVE is the best MMORPG, I just don't have the time and sometimes lack the patience.
WoW, isn't bad either. I return to it every 2-5 months and have a bit of fun.
SWG had potential, but the developers killed it more and more with every patch. It's quite a shame, the space concept, and player run cities were a great idea.
Are there any other good MMORPGs?
None.
LotRO has a lot of content right now, and they're about to release several more end game raids and instances. Right now, you can play through areas like the Shire to Rivendell, and you can finally follow the fellowship through Moria and into Lorien. I suggest you at least give it a shot. There are some problems with (relatively lackluster crafting in the expansion / some kinks with the new legendary/advanceable weapon system), but you'll get plenty of entertainment from it. All the North American/European servers are robust. Having played WoW, LotRO, Guild Wars, and AoC, LotRO definitely has the most fully fleshed out world of any of them, and we've only gotten what, about 20% of Middle-earth so far. They also upgrade the engine every few months, so you'll see lots of new graphical goodies on a regular basis. They patched in DX10 support before AoC did (and AoC was supposed to ship with it!). Also, upgraded shadows, lighting, and some of the best water effects that I've seen anywhere. On a landscape level, the water is the *best* of any game I've seen, with Bioshock being comparable for a lot of other water effects (and beating LotRO in a few areas). LotRO just feels more fleshed out. I remember booting up my Night Elf in WoW a few years back and thinking how very... empty the world was. Sure, there is a lot of landmass, but between LotRO and WoW, there is just no comparison in the level of care that was bestowed upon making every inch of their respective worlds unique and beautiful, stunning, horrifying, or what have you. I've never been THAT big into PvP (I'll do maybe 5 hours of it a week), and LotRO might be a little weak in the PvP department with only one zone and a little modification of PvP, but there are plenty of people who enjoy it anyway (myself included). I'm more into raiding, and right now we only have 2 level 60 (the cap) raids, but that's going to increase with the volume 2 book 8 upgrade coming sometime in the next month or so. AoC was also a lot of fun, so if you want something more mature, you might want to try that out. I found that to be incredibly grindy once you get out of the starting area though. In the beginning, I thought it was AMAZING with the voice acting and the care that went into the starting area. Get out into the "real world" though, and it's back to text quest dialogue and the same kill x / deliver x quests. Also, LotRO has an "epic story" line that moves the whole game forward from the very beginning up to the very end, and the story basically progresses along with you as you move from area to area. It's a very neat way to tie much of Middle-earth together and you to the fellowship's actions. You should definitely use a free trial for LotRO. Brandywine and Landroval servers are a little busy (but they're getting server upgrades for greatly increased stability). You might want to try out a more modestly populated server like Gladden - still PLENTY of people to do stuff with, but almost never any queues.

Then I'll try the LOTRO free trial after my WAR trial ends
. You sounded excited about it, so I must try it.

With large amounts of breaks of course. I would play probably from 10am to 2pm then get back on at 8pm to 2am
