It's a pretty big image, so 56k'ers beware.

I know this pic is somewhat old, but it's nevertheless amazing. The last few pics were especially amazing with all those galaxies. Just unbelievable. Honestly, I don't think humans can put things of that size into perspective.

Have fun feeling totally small and insignificant now. ^^

If anything cool is ever going on Skype me up under the name "blarghle"

Hello

Yea... I feel small, especially when the earth on the picture is only 1 pixel :-(

In fact... we couldn't survive on to big planets cause of the ultra-high gravity on them.
Our world is dying and I would like to... expand?^^

anyway, who made that picture?
And I'm pretty sure that.. "ALIENS" exists, by Aliens I mean just other organism and/or organized life lifes on some of those planets.

Relatively ancient and inactive

It didn't exactly make me feel small, but I liked seeing all the huge stars. And imagine, somewhere out there there's a star that makes VY Canis Majoris seem like the Sun does to VY Canis Majoris.

Looks like someone got a childs book and scanned all the pictures and made that.

I'm so small.

Not likely, Canis Majoris is barely possible under universal constraints and the Eddington limit. Hypergiants are the largest stars in existence.

Probably not.

There is absolutely a size limit on stars. Someone just has to come in here and figure it out.

Just like they thought the sun was the biggest a thousand years ago, right?

No. Actually the among the biggest. As governed by the laws of physics.

Also, FDR means the Hayashi limit, not the Eddington limit.

I feel like a microscopic organism swimming in a Petri of vast void with other micro organisms.

is that last star also the majoris one just by a different name? Is that last one also actually have more mass than some black holes?

I love how people always talk about crazy weird things but the fact that we are a rock flying through space never comes in conversation.

We live in a society.

I don't think it fits into most conversations.

Person 2: We are on a FUCKING ROCK FLYING THROUGH SPACE!
Person 1: What?

Those large stars probably don't have any planets. The gravity well would just suck everything in. And aside from that, I'd say that stars that large would've exploded already. But regardless, its still cool to look at space objects in awe.
I spy with my little eye, a galaxy where the Flood originated.

Just Here For The Pie

You know, I actually have seen an animated version of these images, with music and such. Probably off of ytmnd.

I doubt I can remember the link. It has been at least two years since I have last seen it.

on an offtopic note I dont think "i" can be used in exponent.
(actually...how is it possible to have i in the exponent!?!?)

Gravity isn't a vacuum like thing that sucks everything in. Because according to your theory right there, we shouldn't exist. Since the galactic core should suck everything in. Theres no standing theory on how massive stars were formed, possibilities are that it was formed through colliding several stars into one- and many objects pulled within its gravity may as well orbit- not get sucked in.

Yes, you can use i that way. Imaginary exponentiation is well defined and is used in many areas effectively. What Moose stated is one of the most famous formulas of all time, just like E=mc^2. e^ipi=-1 was voted as the most elegant formula in [forgot year, look it up in t3h internetz], because it is a relation between almost all the most important numbers in math (?... not sure the exact nomination; 'beautiful' or 'elegant' or something of that sort... again, look it up if you wish).

...that totally didn't make me feel better. ZOMG SOMEONE WAS WRONG IN THE INTERNET!!!!!
