I think it would be interesting to have a role that is like a monster that "wakes up" at night - they are town-aligned but hit one person at night at random, and don't know who they are. If the town can guess who they are, it may or may not be in their best interest to kill the monster (same goes for mafia and hitting). Yes, this is like an improvement of the Deerwhale.
