Well theres probably a bunch of fastest maps out there but this one is different because... ITS FUCKING HUGE almost all fastest maps are 128x128 except the micro ones, so I made a huge one, 256x256. You can have 200+ gateways, 200+ barracks, or 150+ Hives, in one base! Now nobody is probably going to get that many of any of those, but say for example you are playing as Protoss, and you get like 20 Gatesways and build goons, but your opponent is raping them so, you decide your gonna get carriers, well, your still gonna have a LOT of room left to get a bunch of Stargates. Or say your doing team melee, I know its not a popular playlist, but anyway, you won't have to cram everything in one base or make seperate bases for your other races, which could easily be attacked. You can just put everything in on base and have a bunch of room! That would also apply to people who like to mind control SCVs and Drones and get more than one race.
Anyway I guess you all get the picture by now, but here are some actual pictures:

Well, I'd like to be the first to congratulate you on following the Map Production forum guidelines and adding screenshots....Oh wait....This is map SHOWCASE, which does not require screenshots, but does require the MAP itself. How are we supposed to play this if you dont link us to the map?

I think one of the reasons that there hasn't ever been a 256x256 Fastest is because a game would take significantly longer just because bases are so far apart.

Gateways require Pylons why Barracks and Hives don't. Larvae blockage aside, shouldn't you be able to place an equal number of Barracks and Hives, and fewer Gateways?

We live in a society.

This is a melee map, so I'm moving it there.

I don't think many posters there are going to go for money maps, though.

Well the hives are so low because of the larva, and the exact number of gateways is 214, and barracks is 247, and I probably could have fit one more row of barracks, but its to late for that.

As for game speed, Well, it would be good for No rush, or for people that don't like to get rushed ^_^
I like not rushing because if you rush the game is pretty boring and uneventful, and it just ends with the player getting all pissed.

Map is going to max due to the large amount of space, which will promote building abusing. Especially with zergs. Think of all the larvas!

+1 point for displaying "HUGE" in the middle of the map, just in case if the players couldn't tell ahead of time when they first joined the game.

We can fit in 200 barracks you say? A typical FMP game is a full house. 200 x 8 = 1600. So I assume they're gonna make 200 barracks and send in 6 troops each? Thats not even counting workers yet...

Lol, well 200 bunkers sure would make making an army fast :P

I'm not sure why you would need more than 100 gateways, lol.

How bout just static photon cannon defense throughout the entire base, that sounds good :)

I like the letters in the middle, HUGE, lol.

Hello

its a good idea but noone will play it
these are negative things:
-> Rush isnt really possible ebcause of the long way
-> cannon rush just get harder to defend
-> you dont even need so much space because if you are building at a normal fastest ma 5 units in each building your supply just may have reached 200/200
-> the terrain is ugly :stfu: sorry :stfu:


192x192 is the really max for a fastest map....^^

Wow that is HUGE.

So I played a quick game vs. BWAI Gold's Death Match Mode and drew ZBath II.. those bastards! I liked all the little extras touches like the arrow and the fire at start. Kinda cool. As for the map.. lol I never really got a chance to feel the size because ZBathII Zerg annihilated me in like 6 minutes. Guess I should have made some cannons? Dunno what I could have done different to be honest. That shit is just hard for me. even if it's just "FMP".

Anyways HERE is the replay on your cool map if you're interested in checking it out. You'll have to run BWAI Gold's Racine's Rebel Final tho to actually activate Death Match Mode and be able to watch it..

All you ppl that think FMP is for total newbs.. ya it ain't the preferred play that's for sure, but you ought to try my "Death Match Mode" just for the hell of it!

Thnx for map. I added it to my forum for those trying out our mod and Death Match Mode HERE. It's already gotten 10 downloads just today alone. :D Hopefully some more ppl will download and try it out.

I am not a fan of fastest maps in the slightest, however I would consider hosting this....just to mess up the newbs that play fastest when they realize, "OMG this map is soooo big what do I do :lol:" If they don't figure out the huge thing or know how to read map sizes anyway...which I suspect many of them don't. Fastest maps seem to collect battle.net's cheating population.
