Technically, I am not suppose to tell anyone this, but what I am about to tell u is so ridiculous, i felt as though I need to share it with you guys.
This friend of mine and I have for the last several weeks been talking about her "relation" with this one boy she likes. She tells me every little detail that happens, and it's quite apparent that this guy likes her. However, despite all our attempts (she also told many of her friends this too) she still doesn't think he likes her. So here's the conversation we just had: And it's still going on as I am typing this post. So tell me, just from this post ALONE, it's obvious that this guy likes her but for some reason, she won't get it. How should I tell her? Or what do u guys think? |

Oh i forgot to mention this, but the real problem behind all of this is, I dont even know this guy. All I know about him is what this girl tells me. I've seen a picture of him on facebook, but that's it. If I actually knew this guy, I'd be talking to him about all of this and discussing things with him.

He has her wrapped around his finger, so he can do whatever - whenever - he wants. It's the uncertainty that she finds insanely attractive. As long as she doesn't have a clear answer, as long as she can't quite find the closure, she's hooked.

Haha, that reminds me that there's this one girl in my math class that every other day in the hall when we're waiting for discussion it's like open forum time for her relationship issues (except of course in this case it's public). This girl sounds exactly like her, it's kind of uncanny. If I didn't know where you went to school, I would be scared

Sounds pretty typical.
Just note that if he's not succeeding in properly communicating to her his intent (even if he really likes her), or visa versa, that could be a setup for other problems down the road. My advice would be to get that shit squared away first. Edit: Fuckin typos... |

Girls... wtf. I forgot I was going to comment on this in my earlier post. I knew a ton of girls who had this exact same thought process. If someone doesn't want to talk to them over AIM or MSN or the like, they go crazy and assume that person wants to ignore them. But they were like 15 at the time and I have yet to encounter that since, so who knows. Maybe its an age thing?

MA's at college, so I would guess around 20. Honestly, a lot of girls are like that and it just doesn't change. Some days I am glad to not have an IM (I only use MSN for internet people like you all)

This girl is a freshmen in college, just turned 19. The guy is also her same year, but an engineering student. She, and this guy are both Asians.
This girl is a VERY VERY girly girl. She LOVES animes and dramas and loves speaking japanese despite being a FOB from China. You can label her as an outlier when it comes to categorizing girls however you want (literally lol). She is VERY unconfidence as many of you guys have speculated. In past conversations through AIM or phone I'd always tell her to take some form of initiative or something to "test" if he really likes her but she just wouldn't/couldn't do it; she ardenly claims that she's not that person and always wants the guy to do w/e first. As for the head patting, hugging, and "punching," that's just from my perspective these two's way of building up their relation; getting more comfortable with each other. He did however, ask this girl out to eat at some sushi places and all many times in the past, he wasn't totally quiet. He's been doing this more and more at least from the girl's side of the story. IMO it's just that this girl doesn't seem to realize that he likes her when EVERYBODY else, even her girl friends, all draw the same conclusion that this guy likes her. Maybe like some of you said, she'll gradually learn to accept it. These are low confident asian people we're talking; I highly doubt either of them are anywhere near thinking about hitting a grand slam. Many friends of this girl have found these two people's "relationship" to be just like those animes/mangas/dramas. I just take it that the guy has really low confidence and doesn't know how to make things progress. But like I mentioned earlier, the real problem is I don't know this guy. If I talked to him, then I'd know how to better talk to this girl about what to do. But you're right doodan, it is quite emasculating >.< maybe I should just slowly start avoiding this subject when hanging out with her
