I have been working on this map for awhile, and now I can't edit it after just saving it and reopening it a few minutes later.

It says in a box, Error loading map
Error reading the "scenario.chk" file from the map MPQ. The utilized map MPQ format is not supported.

Any idea what I clicked or how I can fix this to where I can open the saved file?

Could you attach the map file?

Misc things you can try:
- On the menu there's advanced->open backup database
- Ensure the map isn't open by Starcraft or otherwise before opening it
- Your computer might be blocking some part of Scmdraft, can try unblocking the scmdraft installation files from file properties https://www.thewindowsclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/unblock.jpg, or installing to a folder in documents or somewhere not in program files
- Get the latest Scmdraft

As a general tip: always back up your map. I like to save versions as I go so I always have old versions to revert to if I encounter issues. Ironically since I started creating backups, I pretty much never experience corruption. Better to have them and not need them though.

Yes thanks, I have a backup file. Just saved it about 4 days ago. There is about 6 hours worth of work in the nonworking map though. Any way you think I would be able to open it backup?

jjf28's suggestions are going to be your best bet. I'm not well versed in recovering corrupted maps, I always just used backups when I encountered the issue.

I did some code magic and made your map openable again, this doesn't mean it's not corrupt since there could have been data loss from whatever problems Scmdraft was having when it created the buggy map earlier, so the backup database may be a better option but... here's this: fixy.scm

Note also that these WAV's were not able to be recovered:
Code
staredit\wav\Panzer song.wav
staredit\wav\SOivet heavy tank song.wav

Note also that your map file size is huge, maybe use oggs instead of wavs.

Thank you very much. I will use this as a reference for the backup map. What a great forum this place is.
