Sit and brood for a few minutes pondering a solution to this dilemma.

"Scarlet, you don't look too well. Here, would you like to come with me to the nurse?"

Come to think of it, you are feeling light headed and woozy.

It must be a side effect of the temporal shift. You know you need to find chocolate milk to remedy the problem.

I think there is a time-traveling shower at our house.

Jordan grabs your arm and helps you to your feet. You almost faint, but his firm stabilizing grip helps you hang on. "Are you alright Scarlet? Your flushed," he says out in the hall after murmuring an excuse to your teacher. You nod slowly.

"I need some chocolate milk," you say. You try to walk towards the cafeteria, but between Jordan's grip and your dizziness you trip over yourself and nearly fall. Jordan sighs with tired patience.

"No, you need to see the nurse, let's go." He escorts you to the main office, where a nurse's room resides inside. The front secretary informs you that the nurse will be in for her shift in half an hour, and that you're welcome to wait for her.

"I need to go get my things from the class," you say. Breathing and talking are becoming harder.

"I'll go get them for you, Scarlet. Here, lay down," Jordan says helping you onto a paper covered inclined bed. "He pauses at the door to make sure you're alright before running out. You hear the front desk secretary typing on a typewriter, mumbling to another secretary about how it keeps jamming. The other offices must be occupied, but you have only been in the main office briefly so you are not fully aware of the layout.

Wait for the nurse. It's possible that this is all a dream, and we have to complete some task to get out of it. Or kill Scarlet.

Or possibly we just need to make it home and reactivate the shower.

You wait patiently for the nurse. Your eyelids close heavily, and although you are still awake enough to hear the noise outside you are too exhausted to do much else. When the nurse arrives, you don't even shift. "Hello Scarlet. You seem to be starting our visits a little early this year." the nurse asks in a nasally and annoyed voice. Your eyes bolt open. Your things have appeared by your side - you must have been more tired than you thought if you hadn't even heard Jordan come back and leave. You recognize the nurse before you as the same one you had in middle school. "Oh don't look so surprised, they pay me better here. Now sit up." You sit up and allow the nurse to take your temperature. "Nothing, nothing is wrong with you my dear. Just like before," she sounds frustrated as she removes her gloves and washes her hands.

"But...but I..." you are confused. You stand up, but as your last foot touches the ground your knees buckle and you fall forward. The nurse catches you.

"Well if you're going to be so melodramatic I'll write you a pass so you can go home." The nurse scribbles a note and thrusts it into your hand, "here, show this to the front desk. That should excuse you from the rest of your classes for the day. But don't expect this every time."

Go home, but first talk to your teachers to collect any schoolwork you may have.

Tell your mother you wish to be examined by a physician.

Use lazer eye vision on your rival's homework before they turn it in.

Stop by the local theater on the way home to see if Alice in Wonderland is still playing. If so, go to the next showing.

You show your note to the front desk secretary. "Your free to leave," she says, handing you a stack of papers, "here, a young man left these for you while you were talking to the nurse. These are your homework assignments for tonight and tomorrow."

You step out the main doors and into the sun light. You see Pricilla and Olice under a tree nearby, pointing and snickering at you. When you make eye contact they pretend to go back to their assignments. You stare intently on the paper in their laps until they suddenly combust. Thee grls in a panic leave the burning paper in the nearby rock garden and run. You watch the papers until they disintergrate to ash.

Feeling accomplished, you walk the short distance to the town's movie theater. You buy a ticket for the showing of Alice in Wonderland that had just begun. The theater was already dark and pretty empty. Right after you sit down the opening credits roll. A man enters the theater after you and sits a few rows awat. Exhausted from your hard night and combusting paper with your brain, you fall asleep.

Wake up to notice the man is two seats closer.

You wake up when a theater employee nudges you to sweep your row. You are alone. As you stand up a small folded note falls onto the floor. It is addressed to you. You open it up to read:

Scarlet -
I know what you are.
If you want to get back to the place you belong, meet me at Dick's Soda tonight at 6:00PM.
Don't be late; our time is limited.


The note is left assigned and no further information is provided. You know Dick's Soda to be down the street from the theater. It is currently One o'clock.

Don't go home. Your mother might worry that Scarlet is actually sick. Keep yourself busy doing nothing suspicious (e.g. walk around town, don't kill anyone), and go to Dick's soda at 6pm.

You make plans to lay low until 6pm. Any plans?

Ponder whether or not you're from Krypton.

And get chocolate milk.

You go to a local grocery store and pick out a delicious carton of chocolate milk. You get in line to pay, your head down so that none of your mother's friends recognize you in line. The cashier tries to start a conversation with you, but you just mumble something about being on lunch, pay and leave.

You sit under a tree and drink your chocolate milk in peace.
