Consider, though, that most SC2 custom map players don't come from SC1 UMS and are used to having abilities on the heroes. Having to cast spells by selecting a hotkeyed Gateway is not fun to them. If that's really what you prefer, then that's fine, but at the same time it wont be that popular among the MOBA crowd.

I would do it with the abilities on the heros but as i said my requirements dont work so i cant make the abilities require a level to be upgraded. I can do it through triggers but that just makes every all that much harder. :-_-:

Yeah, like FaZ- said, they're just jealous that you actually got something done. Although, I am kind of against this; it's really not right for you to make a map under that name if you haven't gotten permission from the author (WHO IS UU). I still find it insulting that CAFG thinks he should hold authority over the map1.

Ok so every1 hates the fact that the abilities im using come from the gateway, but I like that style because its more micro intensive than that of a regular MOBA. However, others dont seem to share my opinion, so i had the idea, how about making it a choice?

I can implement both styles of gameplay so that those who want to play regular can choose that, and those that want to play original TS style can play that.

Is this a good idea? It might solve plenty of problems.

I'm sorry for anything rude that I have said to any1, i just dont like change. So sorry Jack and Devlin for everything.

Does any1 know if I can rename my game hero sanctuary? If you guys are making TS 2 then ill make the other game unless people already have a claim to it :-_-:
If some1 has a claim to that then ill brainstorm another name. But I like to make maps and all that good stuff, its fun to see what you can do with this editor.

p.s. If you have any need of a triggerer/some data editor capabilities I can help.

Yes, you should make it a choice. As for the name, you should come up with something original yourself, rather than using previously used names. Call it League of Warriors or Champions of the Pit or something.

If you make it a choice, give the gateway people a +10 starting mineral bonus, like when you random in TS1.

No one will use gateways, but if you enjoy it the option probably isn't going to hurt anyone. I don't think you understand how ridiculously unwieldy that system is though- use spell hotkeys, don't rely on shitty control groups.

No I was thinking like have all the people vote on which one to use, and the one with the larger votes wins. Like 5 for original TS with the gateway and 1 for the MOBA way. Every1 would then have to use a gateway. If I do it this way i would have mostly different spells for the MOBA way so that I can take advantage of the target unit/point features and have different abilities with the gateway because those spells cannot target a point.

Does this make any sense? or am i just rambling on? ^^

I am currently updating the UI in my map so it doesnt seem so "scbw" like. Hope you guys think its up to par xD.

If you leave it to a vote, anyone who votes to not use Gateways will leave the game and join a new one. You're better off creating separate game modes, so that the choice can be made in the lobby.

I like that idea, but i dont know how to do that :><: I know blizzard made the lobby interface easier to deal with (i think) but every time I try to do something with it, it messes up my entire lobby and I have to restart, and post again which is very annoying.

If you know how to do this can you please tell me? :D

http://www.galaxywiki.net/Game_Attributes may be helpful. I haven't messed with them since writing that, so I'm not sure what has really changed. Essentially you would create a custom attribute per "game mode," and then reference it in your triggers.

Sweet, I think this will, work. Ill start the game up using regular MOBA style abilities and then add this when I get some heros done. Thanks Devlin :D

Hey can u help me test my map? ive added new UI for the hero selection so it wont be so much like sc xD

When I add the MOBA type game mode, should I continue using gas as mana? Or switch over to the energy that is on the unit? The game will not have any attributes or items to go with the hero it will be based on pure skill (hopefully). Upgrades will upgrade the damage that the spells you cast do and so on.

Im also going to keep my attribute system that I have right now. Hope no one minds.

That's a very very very bad idea. One of the biggest points of dota style games is you can make the champ unique due to how you build the items...

Yes but items can make the game VERY confusing for new players, kinda like SOTIS, its item system took me about 15 minutes to figure out before I actually found an item that i wanted :><: So i want to try and make the game as simple as possible for new players and so on.

That's a very very very bad idea. One of the biggest points of dota style games is you can make the champ unique due to how you build the items...
On the other hand, avoiding items has worked well for SmashCraft, so I don't think it'll be that problematic as long as the rest of the map is great.

Yeah, i hope the rest of the map is great :><: Ill try my best. I might add a few items for the MOBA style game mode, but if I do there will only be like 5-10, with no upgrades to them, try to keep it simple.

p.s. Any1 know how to increase the font size when working with labels and such? My font is really small and it makes it hard to read, I think its something like <f val="15"></f>
