Morde has very little use for the active, and not having a good use for the active makes it a pretty big waste of money. Morde having low shields then popping the active so all his CDs end so he can have full shields right after zhonyas ends... is NOT a good use of it.

The Hourglass has armor. This marks the first AP + Armor item in the game.

It'll be the best thing he can get, probably, besides the deathcap. Besides, with the high amount of AP on the item, its needed because you can't get things like Archangels. ..Trust me, I tried! :awesome:

I've seen a Karthus get over 1200 ap using Archangels & stuff.

Point is that Morde doesn't have mana.

Second point is that I was doing well with Morde and I went to build a Arch's.

Veigar has that ability where he gets +1 ap for each minion kill, so technically he could get like 10k ap.

Too bad Morde only needs four things of almost all equal importance: Armor, Magic Armor, AP, and CD redux. Getting the hour glass gives him 3/4 of things he needs to become a monster late game, with armor and AP coming directly from the item, and you gain pseudo cd-redux from the active. No other item will provide him with that much stats for such a good item. Morde does not need HP because his shield gets zero benefit buffing hp, he does not need mana, he does not need attack damage, he only needs to buff his resistances and AP, and if you can fit it in somehow, CD redux. I don't know how you think this item was practically made for Mordekaiser. The only other item I might think would fit better on is Malphite and maybe Rammus, but even then, they do fine with just stacking armor and MR.

Ya... That's a stupid change. Getting laned is powerful, especially when you're forced to 2v1 cuz of a jungler. This is just making it so much easier to do it.

I realize this is an amazing item for Morde, but it isn't cost efficient, and you can get other items for lower prices that are more cost efficient. This looks great in game but on paper you can see its a waste of money.

Except those items take up two slots for the same stats. Though they may be more cost efficient, buying 2 items for the same or slightly higher stats than a single item is completely retarded, especially late game.
