Zoan -- also you can set things up so that you can have death counters equal to strings, e.g. Deathcounter_Hero_State == "in battle"
[2017-5-15. : 1:33 am]
Zoan -- My trigger generator can also let you type in custom conditions, like burrowed("Current Player", "Zerg Zergling", "Exactly", 1, "Location X") :3
[2017-5-15. : 1:33 am]
NudeRaider -- wormer.
[2017-5-15. : 1:29 am]
LoveLess -- I cannot remember if it was tux or wormer, but there was also a scmdraft syntax plugin for n++
[2017-5-15. : 1:27 am]
NudeRaider -- Nib-
Nib- shouted: yeah sorry. I meant like the checkboxes, drop-down and whatever. Just pure typing would be nice
you could also use starforge if you can get it to work (confirmed possible on Win7). But be aware that it doesn't play nice with ScmD's string recycling. Gonna break your map eventually when you keep switching. Backups highly recommended if you insist anyway.
[2017-5-15. : 1:26 am]
LoveLess -- Personally I love the options people are providing, but I kind of enjoy the busy work of draft to n++ to draft.
[2017-5-15. : 1:25 am]
dumbducky -- Aside from the story being terrible, most of the dialogue is just atrocious. It's just all so over the top it really does feel like a child wrote it.
[2017-5-15. : 1:21 am]
Zoan -- If you have any questions just ask me, I'd be happy to answer. Or if you don't wanna use this don't sweat it xD
[2017-5-15. : 1:18 am]
Zoan -- I works with any text editor. You create a python file and in command prompt type "python my_map.py output.txt" and it will output a text file which you copy+paste into your map.

LoveLess -- Nib-
Nib- shouted: @zoan Oh is the compatibility only with Note++ or does it also work with sublime? Yo Loveless does scmdraft 2 have a built in compiler? How would you suggest checking for errors?
It has it's own syntax and just checks against it. StarCraft is pretty limited in what it offers in terms of conditions and triggers, so it's not rocket surgery.

Zoan
Zoan shouted: Nib- OR you could use my trigger generator :D you should give it a try. I'll upload the most recent version
Yeah we have a lot of alternative methods available to you these days, but just typing it all out and pasting it into the text editor, is more than possible.
[2017-5-15. : 1:10 am]
Nib- -- I felt when I map made 7 years ago the drop-down crap took more time than actually implementing triggers.

Lanthanide -- another silly thing in WoL is how they didn't bother to explain some of the background stuff, like "he's the tal'darim, they are evil protoss, go fight them"
[2017-5-15. : 1:08 am]

LoveLess -- Unless you mean check as in checkboxes or something, that wording is kind of confusing for me.
[2017-5-15. : 1:07 am]
LoveLess -- Nib-
Nib- shouted: Uh hi? Quick question guys. Is there some sort of trigger editor that's compatible with a text editor like notepad++ or sublime? So you don't have to go through the standard check conditons, eactions etc?
Well you would need to check the conditions/actions regardless because you don't want mistakes. Though yes, using Draft's text trigger editor, you can work on stuff way more efficiently through n++
[2017-5-15. : 1:07 am]

Yeah, use SCMDraft2's advance trigger editor

CaptainWill -- Illuminatus confirmed?

[2017-5-15. : 1:04 am]
Voyager7456 -- Nah - there's a reason we're getting SC:R and it's not because SC2 is killing it in the e-sports scene lmao

Are you really implying BW had no esports success?
[2017-5-15. : 1:03 am]
Voyager7456 -- Maybe they were planning to go with a new race and then they realized they had no idea how to do it without upsetting the balance.
[2017-5-15. : 1:03 am]

Oh hey Nib whats up, I got replays of you on Temple Siege Brothers. And it wouldn't suprise me LoL picked up that garbage
[2017-5-15. : 1:02 am]
Voyager7456 -- Like, Duran was working for a "higher power" in BW and Xel'Naga survivors got retconed out of existence.
[2017-5-15. : 1:01 am]
Dem0n -- Voyager7456
Voyager7456 shouted: I kind of wonder if SC's e-sports success derailed the story.

Lanthanide -- I don't think they would've been directed to ignore BW, but just simply given free-reign to ignore it and come up with their 'cool' new story line
[2017-5-15. : 12:58 am]
Broflamingo -- Voyager7456
Voyager7456 shouted: Broflamingo Yeah it seriously feels like Blizzard just decided to ignore all of Brood War.
Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: Broflamingo Blizzard are fond of ret-conning or just ignoring anything inconvenient. They largely re-wrote Leoric's backstory for Diablo 3
Very well put both of you. Sadly, I also feel like this wasn't a by-product but more of a directive.
[2017-5-15. : 12:58 am]
Lanthanide -- well the final epilogue was obviously rushed, I guess someone at Blizzard said "hey guys, we don't really have a proper ending here"
[2017-5-15. : 12:58 am]
Dem0n -- Wouldn't be surprised if they just took like 10 writers from WoW and put them on SC2 and they were all like, "PROPHECIES O_____O" and forgot about BW
[2017-5-15. : 12:58 am]
CaptainWill -- Yeah, was it Narud sticking up the middle finger at everyone in the SC universe, or was it Blizzard doing that to the fans with the writing?
[2017-5-15. : 12:57 am]
Lanthanide -- Broflamingo
Broflamingo shouted: Lanthanide Dem0n The story feels so disconnected from broodwar, it makes the narrative feel like a Re-boot, but not a re-boot. I know i botched that description but I think you know what im getting at.

Lanthanide -- Nib-
Nib- shouted: Lotv wasn't too bad until they got to killing Amon for good by going through that portal. Then it just went straight downhill. Could tell halfway through LotV that it was a rushed production. Every other map was defend this point for 30 minutes.
eh, I don't think it was rushed, it took them ages to make the damn thing too. I think they just ran out of ideas
[2017-5-15. : 12:56 am]
Broflamingo -- Lanthanide
Lanthanide shouted: actually I'm not sure I even followed the rationale for why they had to de-zergify her in WoL, was it because she was a product over the overmind and therefore corrupted, and when she re-zergs herself in HotS, she was in control of her own powers?
Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: tbh, the thing I hated the most part about HotS was that there was no connection between Duran and Narud. Kerrigan was like, "Who could this Narud person be...?" He literally worked under you LMAO

Yeah that didn't make sense because in BW they explained that once the Overmind died, she regained her consciousness, so I'm not sure how making her human again helped
[2017-5-15. : 12:55 am]
CaptainWill -- LoveLess
LoveLess shouted: FFVII R, if they just do away with the really edgy stuff that made some parts of the story really bad, it actually has a solid base. A good example is the circumstances in which you meet RedXIII.
I would definitely play a remake/remaster. Parts of it did not age well, but I really liked the overall "feel" of the game which came through with the soundtrack and the pre-rendered backgrounds.
