Roy -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Roy basically any sausage. also I wouldn't consider a simple escalope to be more flavorful than bacon. They're about the same.
Sausage is way more flavorful. And you get more food when you order sausage vs bacon.

NudeRaider -- (and agreed to the rest as well)
[2015-10-27. : 4:43 pm]
NudeRaider -- Roy
Roy shouted: NudeRaider There is no One True Diet. Your diet should change with your age, activity, and current health. Ketosis is necessary under certain situations. Diets designed to lose weight efficiently are also necessary if your weight is a health concern: a balanced diet would be one of weight maintenance, and therefore it would be ineffective.
agreed. There's cases where Ketosis is justifiable.
[2015-10-27. : 4:40 pm]
NudeRaider -- why are they forbidden in the US then?
[2015-10-27. : 4:40 pm]

[2015-10-27. : 4:38 pm]
Roy -- Bacon also doesn't accentuate other flavors, just overrides them with its overwhelming sal salty taste.
[2015-10-27. : 4:38 pm]
NudeRaider -- It's not extreme to avoid substances that make you sick. Though it's extreme to still avoid those substances when you're starving.
[2015-10-27. : 4:36 pm]
Roy -- Name one pork product less flavorful than bacon.

[2015-10-27. : 4:35 pm]
NudeRaider -- bacon flavorless?
[2015-10-27. : 4:35 pm]
Roy -- Thick cut bacon is the best bacon because it's least like bacon.
[2015-10-27. : 4:35 pm]
Roy -- It's inferior to any other variation of pork. It's almost flavorless salt.
[2015-10-27. : 4:34 pm]

Roy -- Life hack: Tape an "Out Of Order" sign onto a bathroom stall to always have one available when you need it.
[2015-10-27. : 4:05 pm]
Roy -- Would you call "almost no trans fats" an extreme? Eliminating something that is detrimental to your current health isn't an extreme, in my opinion.
[2015-10-27. : 4:03 pm]
Roy -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Roy Without looking into it specifically: I'm no fan of those diets. They seem to be used to lose weight fast, but that's not what I call a healthy diet. Healthy also means sustainable. Not sure if that diet would lead to deficiency signs, but I go by the guideline that any extreme is bad. And almost no carbs is an unnecessary extreme imo, even if you can actually pull it off.

either it's already in the meat you bought or you used non-trans free frying fat.
[2015-10-27. : 2:38 pm]
NudeRaider -- Roy
Roy shouted: Wait, so they're still using partially hydrogenated oils to put in trans fat, but they're diluting it so that they can claim they aren't? Is that what you're telling me?
I don't know the production specifics. All I know they still have some: http://nutrition.mcdonalds.com/getnutrition/nutritionfacts.pdf
[2015-10-27. : 2:37 pm]
Roy -- Oh, okay, that makes sense. It used to be worse here, too, before the FDA stepped in.
[2015-10-27. : 2:36 pm]
NudeRaider -- well it appears it's different in Germany. We have no rules against trans fats like they exist in the US.
[2015-10-27. : 2:34 pm]
Roy -- It occurs naturally in meat and dairy, but at negligible levels; nobody is adding trans fats to these products. If that's what you're talking about, you're advocating avoiding all dairy and red meats.

Roy -- Also there are circumstantially healthy diets that restrict carbs to negligible levels, like the ketogenic diet.
[2015-10-27. : 2:25 pm]
Roy -- Also, I've never seen a store-bought brand of patties that contain trans fats. Local places here advertise a lack of trans fats like they're the only ones doing it, but it's a marketing ploy. The reality is most places have moved away from using trans fats; I guess I took issue with your use of "often", as it's currently not, at least in the U.S.

Roy -- Wait, so they're still using partially hydrogenated oils to put in trans fat, but they're diluting it so that they can claim they aren't? Is that what you're telling me?
[2015-10-27. : 2:10 pm]
NudeRaider -- Also your average joe burger restaurant or even homemade burgers may still contain a considerable amount of trans fats.
[2015-10-27. : 2:09 pm]
NudeRaider -- Roy
Roy shouted: The last Burger chain to have trans fats was Burger King... In 2008. Your analysis on saturated fats also sounds outdated, as meta analysis revealed saturated fats are no more harmful than carbohydrates in regards to heart health.
chains yes, because their food is publicly monitored. And it's not that they contain no trans fats, they just reduced enough to fall under a threshold so they can call it trans fat free. Also there's nothing inherently wrong with carbs, actually any healthy diet has to include them. But it's important to avoid simple carbs and eat complex carbs that the body needs longer to break down. Like from whole grain.

Roy -- Jack
Jack shouted: Nude, just because something has less protein and carbs and fat doesn't mean it is "more healthy"
Fish doesn't have less protein than beef, especially the filler meat they use at chains.

NudeRaider -- And if you want a really healthy food skip majonaise and ketchup as well and replace with onions and spices.
[2015-10-27. : 12:38 pm]
NudeRaider -- Fish, on the other hand, contains Omega 3, vitamins B6 and B12 and almost no saturated fats. But that was actually a joke apparently no one got. I'd use turkey breast.

NudeRaider -- And if it does, only in form of fruit.
[2015-10-27. : 12:36 pm]
NudeRaider -- Jack
Jack shouted: A hamburger is very healthy, as long as you are eating in the correct quantities
since many people in first world countries eat more fat than is recommended, I do count fat to the "bad" list. Also burgers contain a lot of saturated fats and often even trans fats. And those are bad no matter what. (Yes your body will be able to get away unscathed if you keep these low, but they are definitely not healthy.) Protein is important and carbs... well they pack calories. So if you wanna drop your calorie intake, start with carbs. Especially since burger bread usually contains processed sugar with is by no means healthy. No diet tells you to include sugar because it's so important to your body.

My problem is it makes it an entirely different food, such as eating fish instead of a hamburger.
