Just a poll to gather your thoughts...
Majority doesn't mean much here.

We live in a society.

Let Moose code minerals the ways he wants them done. :D
(or get rid of them.)

I dont really care too much, but there are still some benefits of keeping them. The account upgrades (+PM's, avy space, ect) and the mineral system work well. They also make good prizes for contests. Not to mention if it killed mins, you would kill all the magic boxes addicts :P

But, if you get rid of them, there is no more begging, spamming for minerals, or the normal crap people pull to gain a few more.

I dont care, either way is fine with me. If you do get rid of them, I suggest something like this for the account upgrades:
Avy space: 20 - 25kb
Global space: Fine as it is.
PM space: I'd say around 150 -200
Name changes: 1; admins\moderators have to do any further name changes

Anyway, just suggestions, I'm sure if you kill them you will work it out more efficiently. ;)

If anything cool is ever going on Skype me up under the name "blarghle"

I like minerals, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if they were removed.

I enjoy the company of minerals, too.

It's fun to be able to want to have certain features, and have the satisfaction of knowing that you've earned it. Instead of just setting each feature in your settings once, and leaving it that way forever.

Minerals are good to have around, but the system could use some re-doing. Especially the no-avatar, -150 start business. I'm not going to be heartbroken no matter what happens to minerals though.

I think there is an inherent charm to having something on this forum related to the very game the site is dedicated to. I'd remove the money system, simply because it motives a lot of negative behavior, but I'd keep the concept of minerals and instead apply them to a different system.

Not really. If I'm low on minerals often I will actually bother to tell that guy making that map what I think is good and bad and how he could improve.

Your posting habits should have NOTHING to do with anything about minerals. Which is the main point that they should just die.

I'd like to be able to feel all the site's nice little features without posting my ass off.

I've turned off my minerals. I get a free sig and avy, which is nice, but everyone else is just bouncing around with shout colors, name change, and big avatars.

Problem with the current system is that after you buy all your fancy items there's not really much to do besides bet on the games.

Let Moose get drunk and then make them the way he wants to.

I think you should kill them only because I have 13 minerals....

Coming back to SEN, having to make a new account, yeah -150 minerals is pretty annoying, since you can't even rate things with negative... And I could've sworn I just saw my minerals go down -2 (-114 to -116) when I edited a post to include a link to an upload while removing the attachment. Makes me wonder what I did wrong there.

In any case, it'd be nice to have more things that gave minerals, though that may be hard to manage. Things such as uploading maps (checked first for real/fake). I don't mind minerals, but this is pretty harsh.

Dungeon Master

So long as I can keep all of my +5kb avatar space items, I'm fine with it :P

I don't care either way. Minerals do add a bit of spice that attracts me to the site, though.
