(NOTE: I decided to edit this post because I found the solution to my other problem and I didn't want to pollute the forum. Ignore posts 2 and 3.)

So the title says it all. How do I do it? The reason I want to do it is so that I can order a unit outside of the map and the person owning him can't move him at all (I have never done this but I heard that it can be done.)

Are there any risks/glitches/things that I should watch out for that could corrupt my map by making a location outside the map?

Also, what's the maximum amount of triggers you can have in a SCMdraft map?

Tx in advance!! :)

In SCM Draft, you can double click the location, and then modify its coordinates to go outside the map, to the right or bottom.

There is no trigger limit, at least not that you will reach.

Also, you don't order it outside the map so it can't move, you move it.

It's past the millions, and theoretically you can even expand it from there, so trust me, no one is ever going to reach it :P

Mind you, even with hyper triggers, some units (according to my tests, Carriers are in this category) can be very slowly moved by a very determined player spam-clicking even with this system. It's such a slight amount for the few clicks that do register on the unit that most people will give up and declare the unit immobilized, but strictly speaking, it's still slightly movable.

Yeah, depending on if you're mass moving units or not, you may want to just constantly teleport it back to it's spot.

can you do this with starforge?
when i tried it with starforge.. my marine was created at the very edge of the map, not at the off-map location

CreateUnit(1, Marine, Location, CurrentPlayer);

(The location was outside of the map)

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

You can't place a unit off the map?

You cannot create units outside the map.
The point making locations outside the map is another. For example to constantly move a unit there to effectively immobilize it.

yea i want to immobilize it, how do i do it?

just make a move trigger that has a preserve trigger at end?

MoveUnit(1, Marine, CurrentPlayer, Anywhere, Location_Off_Map);
Preserve();

??????????

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

And why I''m hitting scmdraft's trigedit trigger limit with my 37.000 triggers? :D
It's a bug SI tries to fix atm.
You can do as much as you want.... (if you don't care about the map size...)
