I don't get it. I just got a notice saying he deleted one of my posts in here, but I can't figure out which one!

And @ Doodan: It was a joke. Lighten up.

I still don't like your attitude of "let's totally ignore this topic".
Quoting a post of mine in a topic which I am "ignoring" is ironic.

The most loved moderators are the ones who never actually moderated anything.
Ask Moose and IP, they will tell you that the most loved moderators were such because they could get the job done without causing so much tension.
Indeed, many of them did.

I like how everyone right now is flaming and no one is doing anything about it. SRSLY.
What exactly do you expect them to do about it? It isn't like they can remove Esponeo themselves. Or are you expecting me to react? I am watching, waiting, and thinking.

You guys might be interested in reading this topic.

Ah no, I don't expect anything. I am merely stating the hypocrisy in their responses. If you (everyone) wanted to get something done, for example, the removal of a moderator, due to said moderator's flame (and such), they probably shouldn't be flaming the moderator. Hint hint. :P

Lol, I was just reading over one of Esponeo's former attacks on me:

Quote
Shmidley is the primary name I use. I switched to Salacious(U) while I was in (U) and used that name on SEN. I was then Desperado on SEN for some reason. Right now I'm using Esponeo on here, AIM, and Xbox Live.

I don't know why you only posted the end of that conversation. The beginning was much funnier and would have been a much greater attack on my character. Here you go:

Quote
Esponeo (7:16:11 PM): Do you have friends
Felagund (7:16:22 PM): sure
Esponeo (7:16:29 PM): There are a lot of aggressive idiots on SEN.
Felagund (7:16:35 PM): yep
Esponeo (7:16:36 PM): I've always considered you a passive idiot.
Esponeo (7:16:44 PM): Like, the things you say are so mind boggling dumb.
Felagund (7:16:51 PM): ya
Felagund (7:20:26 PM): i try to be pretty dismissive with online people
Felagund (7:24:53 PM): like if you actually believed i'm a passive idiot, then there'd be no reason to keep on telling me that
Felagund (7:28:54 PM): but hey, at least i fool everyone else
Esponeo (8:55:20 PM): See
Esponeo (8:55:28 PM): I assumed no one could possibly be that stupid and that you are full of shit
Esponeo (8:55:33 PM): But you start topics
Esponeo (8:55:36 PM): stating total bs
Felagund (9:14:43 PM): like what?
Esponeo (9:21:54 PM): Apparently I just imagined that.
Esponeo (9:22:02 PM): I cannot find the topic I seem to remember reading.
Felagund (9:22:10 PM): what was it about?
Esponeo (9:22:16 PM): I don't remember.
Felagund (9:22:31 PM): you'll forgive me if i can't help you out
Esponeo (9:22:42 PM): Never.
Felagund (9:22:57 PM): well it's still your problem
Esponeo (9:25:20 PM): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mojito

Although the part where you admitted to pretending to be an idiot to piss people off on SEN might redeem me. I'm continually amazed by how pathetic some people are. I am not the type of person to say anything to anyone in private that I would not willingly say in a public setting or to anyone's face.

The best part is that you completely took "Felagund (7:28:54 PM): but hey, at least i fool everyone else" out of context, taking it at face value and, surprisingly, not appreciating the sarcasm in it. In that regard, you just don't try as much anymore to be rude. It almost makes me kind of miss the old Esponeo, to be honest.

That happens to me all the time. Shouldn't you be able to see your deleted post somehow? That kinda bugs me, and when I ask the moderator what I did wrong, they don't answer

Sorry Moose, I didn't mean ALL the time. On rare occasions ^^

It's driving me insane, like when I get fined 5 and can't remember why.

Also he deletes my posts when they're even slightly offtopic, post along the lines of "Lol, Hug a Zegling has never proofed his maps against hackers" was deleted...

Why?

Because it didn't contribute to the topic in any way? That constitutes the definition of spam.

You have also never been fined 50, either.

Can we stop demonizing the staff already?

Jul 2 2008, 12:27 am candle12345 Post #191

If you want to nitpick than 90% of all forum posts on any forum are spam.

Do we want to become facepunch? Banning for anything and everything?

EDIT: NEVER

Okay sorry. Apparently you don't actually have any method of seeing the post that got deleted so in the future I will be sending out Private Messages detailing exactly which post got deleted and why until Moose gets around to coding that feature.

EDIT: HOWEVER... if you made a response to a flame and it gets deleted I am not going to be sending you a PM to tell you that your post got deleted. You are still able to view the -reason- that your post got deleted, which will be "Response To Deleted Post" or something similar. The solution to avoid having posts like those deleted is to REPORT others instead of replying to flames and what not. The report system is actually very good.

Apparently it isn't passing through the script. It amazes me that no one ever pointed this out.

Esponeo we can see the posts you delete now, so tone down on what you delete because even if you didnt delete the borderline spam it wouldnt be a problem. Its the the flames and spam wars that are the problem. Like i said already your to strict and uptight about shit, am i right?

Apparently, Esponeo wasn't too fond of the fact that I pointed out that (U)Bolt-Head was a good moderator, so he deleted that post. That post was actually rather relevant in pointing out that there were good moderators out there who got the job done without pissing off the majority of SEN (not that I count myself among them, but still). Esponeo's zeal is... oddly admirable, as somebody is at least doing something for SEN, but he relies more on personal taste about differentiating spam and good posts, when the line is more blurry than he would like to make out. That's where the problem lies.

What you said was not relevant. I did not want to delete it since it was something I agreed with. Unfortunately I can't make exceptions for irrelevant spam just because it happened to be true.

We live in a society.

Quote from Esponeo
At one time I was exclusively a moderator of the terrain forum. I created strict guidelines and demanded that anyone posting say something specific and useful about a blend instead of just hating or congratulating it.
I forgot to mention this earlier. If you want, you can create and pin a thread of forum rules for the Terrain forum. Since it appears you're enforcing them, you must make them known and available.
http://doodle77.dyndns.org/staticsen.php?st=38397 might help you in this.

I don't know. The notion of having a forum where one has to think before they post and post because they have something to say instead of having to say something is very alluring to me.

See, I disagree with you on that point, Esponeo. It was relevant, as I already pointed out. I feel that you're just a little too trigger happy for everyone's benefit. If you don't understand something and have a misconception that a post is spam, perhaps you could ask the poster, once in a great while, to clarify the point.

Is it so bad to ask, "I don't understand, so could you please explain further?"

None.

Jul 2 2008, 6:51 pm Hug A Zergling Post #200

Thats true. But then, he has to delete a lot of things. Maybe he forgets? Or wait, is there something that tells you what you deleted?
