Excalibur's terrain is WAY nicer then most on b.net alone. Although I do seem to see more and more 1v1 +Obs type games made out of Twilight terrain.

The sword and the faith

For anyone wanting to see the final version of Portal that i handed to bronto, look no further:

It took a lot of over doodading and determination but its done. Bronto may have to screw with it a bit, but i think this is a good enough preview for you folks. Hope you like it.

Im currently working on a desert 8p map that ill also submit for use.

Edit: Fuck you SEN, failing to get size. YOU FAIL. IP better get back here and fix some code. :flamer: :flamer: Fixed it by uploading somewhere else. SEN still fails.

It still looks great! I thought you had a seizure when I opened up the file and saw all of those white crater doodads all over the place. It still looks nice though. I might have to screw around with the center piece to make it big enough to fit 3 beacons, with room and have a civilian walk around in it. Good Job! :D

antihack = good. I would add in something to detect when a player does a perfect split, when when they can't select their drones. I hate that hack.

You're the last person I'd think would add this to their map when every melee obs game I've been in with you.... you've been dropped by the antihack.

So I downloaded Hax and I use them more then I should. I just wanted to get more ideas for this map, I square! :shifty:

Too much. I still have to finish the map first. Once I do so, then I can just switch in and out of the different terrain pallets you keep making. They all look great! :D

When do you plan on featuring your map? This map night would be awesome with a new map for once. I can't wait to see how you figured out ways to defeat hackers using triggers in conjunction with EUD triggers for the map hack. Count me in as a designated player.

I have been working diligently on Phantom vBront. I plan on calling it something like Phantom Portals, or some other catchy name. I have almost completed the the main core triggers and like I might have stated in an earlier post, the anti map hack and anti zerg mineral hacks have been created and work, for the most part. <--- Have not tested in more then a 2 player multiplayer game yet. Be there. Friday. Bring your epic skills. Be prepared.

The sword and the faith

You should make it Phantom Hackless. Play up its antihack and i think itll be a lot more popular.

Name: Phantom Hackless v1 . That sounds decent.

UPDATE: I have the core of the Phantom system up and working. I have the mineral increases for all of the players written in text. I need to change all of the information in those triggers to fit gas instead of ore. I also have a minor bug in the game. (phantom related) When the phantom switches are active, player 2 automatically has a defeat in the beginning of the game. (I am currently working on this) I hope to have it running and playable this Friday @ map night.

UPDATE:

I have all of the triggers for each of the various systems and they all work nicely. I have yet to implicate a variable ore/gas selection but I'm not too worried about it. I only have one problem. Player 1 and Player 2 have a better chance of getting picked as the Phantom. I played it numerous times, just single player, and for the most part, Player 1 and Player 2 are almost always the Phantom. I didn't create this system from scratch, I just modified a previous one that I found on the side of the road. Now its not all of the time that Player 1 and Player 2 are chosen, but its a good portion of the time. I might have to add in some more randomization of the triggers... Other then that, the triggers are going swell. I still hope to have it done, or at least test/playable for this coming Friday @ Map Night, but I have to work untill 9:30pm EST, so I will either be on really early, or after 9:30pm EST.

UPDATE: 6/20/08 AM

Well, its good news today. I was playing the game single player last night and I found the reasons why the anti Zerg Mineral Hack and the anti Map Hack systems were not firing. It was because I forgot to input a reset trigger to always "refresh" the newest count or Ore. For the Map Hack system, I forgot that when you modify text in the Text Editor in Scmdraft 2 it comes up as "Invalid Unit" so all I had to do is just redo the EUD triggers. Everything, as of now, is working fine. I do plan on attending Map Night tonight and unveiling my map. I hope a lot of people will be there to play my map! :D

Actually yes, but sadly I will not be online, due to work, until some point after 9:30pm EST tonight. :omfg: It is done with the exception of major testing with actual human players, but for the most part, the hacking, both mineral and map, are completely working and will defeat the players or can cause a dysync of the map hacker. I will be playing with meh hax tonight and I hope that Falkoner will be attending my map hosting as well. Excalibur, I have made some minor changes to the terrain, the top middle and the bottom middle, as well as the center, for my next system that I wish to include. Which brings me to my next idea. As I might have mentioned before, I wish to include some type of system so that the players can determine how many minerals are at each given location, either a Base - starting area, a small expansion - area with just minerals, a medium expansion - area with minerals and a geyser, or a secondary base - an area with some vantage points as well as a decent amount, or as much as the bases include, worth of minerals and gas.

UPDATE: 6/20/08 pm

I have all new custom names, I just removed the "zerg", "protoss" and "terran" from the names and added a colored letter of the units hot key.

THINGS THIS MAP PROTECTS AGAINST:

Map Hack - Automatically disconnects the hacker, and or defeats the hacker with a message displaying that a player has hacked. You usually have to remake the game after this.

Zerg Mineral Hack - Automatically defeats the hacker with a message displaying that a player has hacked.

New Worker Mine - This is something I did by accident. If you have Oblivian and you create a new worker unit, if you don't have a rally point set, the worker will begin to mine the closest mineral patch. I wanted the players units who leave or have hacked and were defeated to be removed by a trigger but as you know, Neutral also owns the minerals and geysers, so what I did was I gave all of the minerals and all of the geysers to player 11. Somehow the newly created worker -> mine thing was broken by this. :D

Everything else is either pointless or does not provide that much of an advantage to playing the game. Yet I some how fear that tonight, Falkoner or someone will prove me wrong. :-(

Well, do your best to come early. Can you post the map so we can test it earlier on? I usually leave somewhat early, around 10:00.
