You know ditto can learn any move smeargle can learn like permanently, right?

Nope.

Smeargle is the only Pokémon capable of learning any move. (Mew can learn any TM or HM, but not all moves are in them.)

My hex editor doesn't agree :P

Wouldn't work.

Sketch's move wouldn't override transform.
So I suppose it's impossible to catch a mew in Red or Blue as well?
Its possible. Really glitchy, but possible.

Is there a pokemon that did drugs?

Clearly Ghastly, Haunter, and Gengar. Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, and Hitmontop all did steriods, along with the machop evolutions.

None.

Are you sure about that?

There is a method, but until I remember the last step, I am as close as you are to catch it.
By the way, I do have it :P

Its not hard to get. I have it myself, but the process which it takes to get it (without hacking the game) is glitchy and unstable.

Uhh, it's easy, stable, and always works. It lets you catch any pokémon in the game at level 7, and is only limited by the number of trainers in the game. Then again, I actually know the missingno. trick works, and how to avoid corruption.

But the start menu glitches when you perform that trick (on the orignial R/B/G/Y). You are forced to perform certain things in certain orders... I just dont find it convienent. Of course, I've done it before, but its just not practical :><:

rockz knows the same trick I know :P Share it with the world and remind me how to do it, if you would like to.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

Since you asked...
Find a trainer who faces upwards, and will notice you if you walk to him from off the screen (the gambler between lavender and saffron, for example). walk down to get his attention, but while moving, press start. he will appear on your screen, but now fly away/dig/teleport. He will get that "!" over his head, but you'll be long gone. Now, go find a trainer, since you can't press start, A, or B. Let the trainer walk to you so you get your buttons back. Defeat him. Now go back to the area that you ran away from that first trainer. When your start menu pops up, return to the game, and you'll find a wild pokémon, depending on the special of the last pokémon you fought. If you want mew, after you fight the 2nd trainer, find a pokémon with 21 special, and then fight a wild ditto, let him transform into that pokémon, then run away. Each pokémon is found at a specific special number, based on their hex code. Mew is #21, Mewtwo is #141, I think. So you can catch any pokémon in either game. I think this also works in Yellow.

My trick is simpler. I think. Its very similar.
And because I'm too lazy to rewrite it, Ill hot link http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~jdonald/pokemon/mewglitch.html

Thank you rockz. To make more specific what he said, go to Cerulean City, and after the Nugget Bridge (or something similar) there wil be a trainer to your left, in the tall grass. Go to him and do all that fky/teleport thing. Then go all the way back up and fight this trainer, and then you know the rest (I think it's that one, but I don't remember well).

What I don't get about Pokemon is how:

Water beats Fire (Duh)
Fire beats Grass (Duh)
Grass beats Water (Orly?)

I remember seeing on one of the really old episodes that if and when charmander's or any of its evolution's tail flame goes out it dies. How lame is that?

Charizard For The Win!

The first three Pokemon and their three evolutions are aways the best. This goes for each new set as well.

Machamp is the anti-snorlax... Super effective cross chop? Though a curselax can take out an entire team of poorly trained mewtwos.

The grass just absorbs the water. Much like grass would beat carbon dioxide, or sunshine.
