The tar to compound it awesome, I love how the bridge blends so well, just try to fix the edges where it meets with the dirt and it will look perfect. the melted ice one looks good as well, although the edges still look pretty blocky, I love how you put all the ice in the water to make it look like it was drifting off.

I've seen the tar to compound before but great re-discovery :D Or maybe your reposting old stuff that got deleted?

Lol, yeah i was in the terrain contest a LONG time ago. Maybe it was even a year ago... wow it's been a long time. I thought i would repost them since its been so long and get some feedback because i want to explore terraining a bit more now that i have more free time.

I found them cool. The melted water thingy is kinda weird at some places due to little blockyness but its really nice overall.

Do you always put units in your terrain ss ?

I try to do it if I think it needs it. The main reason is to show the terrain in a "game-like" setting. Some terrain i dont have units but it feels so empty without them.

Doesn't that say something about your terrain? Lol I mean you don't want it to get over crowded, but it should look somewhat filled without units :)

Add a bunch of doodads to it, trust me, they give a great effect to it, but do not overdo it, and especially don't overdo doodads with sprites, just use a ton of the terrain ones.

Amazing stuff, I love the ice to water, I've actually spent a little bit of time with ice tileset myself, but I never did anything that interesting.

I've never seen the tar-to-compound, and I must say, I'm impressed. I'd like to see that used in RPG maps for outposts on top of a tar-ocean.

Doodad clutter is what i call it. I loves it and its really effective if your ganna spend the time to make it different and creative. i reccomend to try it to all new and beggining terrainers :)

Clutter makes it sound too much, I'd say more like doodad filling(like a doughnut!) haha! :)

Well i did use lots of doodads.... a few sprites, but if i added more than what i have it WOULD be cluttered with too many. Anyway, I'm getting back into terraining, twillight is too hard, and i think i like desert better.

Haha desert's cool :) But it appears very limited... Prove me wrong :D

It is less limited than Twilight in my opinion, as it has a lot of the same blends except they go together much easily, you should try a little yourself.
