the units look a lot better in game IMO
the hatchery looks like a tent

and is it just me, or do zealots seem slightly stronger? (8 lings lost to 2 zealots i think)

I don't know but zerg screams "wc3 undead" to me.

it actually seems to play pretty similar to zerg in sc1, but most of the building graphics suck.

Ooh.. icons! Fifteen on them! Nice. I think that means we can give a unit like 9 extra abilities. Neat. Oh, and yeah, the Zerg do seem to have a similar playstyle.

Just so people know this game is NOTHING like wc3 ^_^

3d RTS with multiple races with differing playstyles, techtrees, units and individual storylines. Similar UI style, map dimensions and battlenet support also mean nothing.

No. You've played WC3 and you know how it goes. Interface is nothing like WC3. I am not talking about what 'RTS'es should have. I am talking about specific aspects of the RTS. And by that aspect, SC2 does not seem or play like WC3.

Well at least they're keeping the same unit speech :P I thought they were gonna have completely different sounds.

They're probably just placeholders.

Mar 12 2008, 11:36 pm Vi3t-X Post #13

They ARE Placeholders. Only some of them were replaced as voicing for certain units for "Display purposes" as required.

Mar 19 2008, 12:20 am MNeox Post #17

Does it mean that zerg is gonna start off with 6 drones while other races start off with 4?
or what? I mean if zerg is the only one startng off with 6 does it mean it's pretty weak or that drones cost more.. or.. just that the use of drones to make buildings is gonna be balanced in sc2?

I wonder how you get on the beta list or that--would be fun! Especially if they need testers after I graduate and take a year off to work before getting further school in :}.

either all races get 6 miners, or it was only a feature in that specific build. I highly doubt that they would give zerg 2 more miners to start off with.

well zerg I think needs to be a bit improved, losing with 6 drones to start off with and like no sunkens yet ( or if any do exists ) kinda imbalanced. :\ , then again there should be more updates on zerg since nothing is final or anything...
