I haven't been able to get this to work. I'm interested to hear if it's possible or if there's any workarounds.

Basically I have an item system using a dropship:

Unfortunately the latest patches messed with the wireframes a bit so I lost the nice colour-coordination with the yellow defiler (doesn't really matter). But I thought of another idea to have unit HP representing if you had the item in your inventory or not. 1% HP = dont have item 100% HP - have the item.

But I can't modify unit HP while it's inside the dropship it seems. Any ideas??

I mean, you could modify the hp of it before it gets reloaded into the dropship?

None.

This is what I would do.. Should be easy to check this everytime said item is used and when set to 0... set health before doing order to have unit go back into dropship.

I have never done this. So I am not sure how well it would work ( With order for the dropship) but in this case you just issue run script to exit transport - Set the health of said unit. Then tell them to re-enter transport. Again I am not sure how this would work with unit order when they all go back into drop ship though. You may have to create a staging area where each unit is moved to a separate location and the run script is done separate per unit to make sure order is not messed up.

Yeah the making green again part is what confused me. Vrael did it in tenebrous but I'm not sure how to make a script drop specific units. Maybe you can remove units while they're inside then recreate them underneath?

There is an exit transport script. Or your idea may work as well. I would try to remove said unit from location while its in the dropship. Then create same unit and run script to enter dropship. That idea should work as well.. That method might be even easier to make sure ordering of units do not mess up. Only remove 1 at a time/ put in dropship.

Yep, confirmed you can remove units inside dropships. That's how it's done.

Thanks all.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
