I like being able to expand to full size on click, but it should only be with a certain size, say.. above 800x600.

Anything that doesn't stretch the page should be viewable normally. Everything else should be expand on click.
Don't resize every image. Just those that overflow the post space.

That's the plan... images bigger than like 500px in width or 250px in height...

I like the click for expanded image, but only if the image is really big.

show full from start! everything else sucks for terrain

I enjoy NOT having to click Starcraft Screenshots to make them full screen.

IP, make the maximum size a bit larger, I just want to be able to easily put the whole thing on my screen, any bigger is too big, but right now they can only be a tiny bit larger than the thumbnails to show up.

I liked v4.1 - images with [IMG] don't scale, but attached images do.
actually, I thought that was slightly annoying that the behaviour was different for linked vs attached images.
I'd say any images that are too big can be cropped... though scaling is a good option too.

Expand to full size on click
and
Open in a new window / tab
I like being able to open images into their own tab without having to 'right-click, view image,' personally.

I prefer expand to full size on click.
Also, what about having people be able to select a setting in their control panel
Like be able to expand on click or open in new window on click.

I think attachment images should be thumbnail sized (make a separate image for the thumbnail, so total page size is smaller) and expand on click, and [img] images should only be scaled if they are above 640x480 (size of a SC screenshot)
If you need inspiration on how to implement this, look at SMF (

Seems like the majority wants full size/full size on click. So, if a image is like 2000x1500, you want it in still contained in the post area? That's my main concern. It would distort the page once you click it (or if it exists as is).
I couldn't find any attached images on that forum... and it was kinda hideous to look at so I didn't go too far

The problem of huge images should be solved the same way as on Maplantis, overflow:auto;.
