Desert Strike WarHead

I wanted to share my latest version of Desert Strike. As best as possible, I have bypassed all bugs and glitches known on Desert strike maps. I have also added a lot of new features, but kept the Desert Strike Concept as Nuderaider invented. I removed a lot of units from bases to make more room for units owned by the computer players. I made sure to implent messages for all features in the map. The map has no sounds in it. From my experience of playing desert strike, desert strike replays tend to always crash if the speed is more than fastest. By not adding sounds it is now possible to watch replays in full speed without it crashing.

Selectable Game Modes
There are
6 different game modes and
48 different combinations of game play.
These range from noob friendly to competitive.
[b]Triple RaceWhen this mode is selected each player will get
1 Drone,
1 Probe, and
1 SCVHeroesWhen enabled, each player will be able to build a maximum of
1 hero
Zerg Hero - Hunter Killer (Hydralisk)
Terran Hero - Jimmy "The Rine" Raynor (...Duhh)
Protoss Hero - Zeratul (Dark Templar)
Reinforcement HeroesHeroes will be summoned forth when all floor trap defenses have been destroyed at your team's temple.

SpecialsSpecials have been recronstructed and balanced
MindcontrolThis takes over 40-50% of enemy units. When mind control is completed, it kills the rest of the enemy units and recalls some allied units to the enemy temple
Looks Insane
InfestationThis kills all enemy air units instantly and then the Infestation begins by changing all 80-90% of enemy grounds units into either leutenant kerrigans, Infested kerrigans, Infested terrans, with a small extra amount of broodlings. Last but not least it has the abillity to disable a terran deathtrap.
Really Nice special with cool effects
DeathTrapThis kills only a small amount of normal enemy units(10-30%), but has the abillity to kill all infested units. Then it heals and sets all ally units to invinsible state (including your Temple). Last but not least it sets the rest of existing enemy units to 10% health 10% shield (Like a Poison effect). Also looks insane when your units eats up enemy units like they where butter

Special Income SpeedNormal speed - your gas income will increase by 10
Fast speed - you will gain 10 gas resource at double the speed of normal setting.
These two modes can only be chosen if specials are
ONBuilding Income SpeedNormal speed - Your income will increase by
10, 12, 14, 16, 19, 22, 25, 30 depending on how many
refinery/
assimilator/
extractor you've built.
Fast speed - Your income will increase by
20, 24, 28, 32, 38, 44, 50, 60 depending on how many
refinery/
assimilator/
extractor you've built.

AFK Ban Detection
This functions based on resource amount. If someone is away and has gained more than 5000 resources (ore) at normal income speed and 8000 resources at fast income speed, their banner will be moved to their own ban spot. They'll then be informed to use their resources and move their kerrigan away from their own ban spot.
Now let's say you have enemy players who are being complete a-holes and don't want to help you ban. Rest assured we thought of how to fix this as well. When your ally has had their kerrigan moved to their own ban spot, only allies are needed to ban the person who has been recognized as AFK.

Map Max Detection
For the longest time map max has been plagueing Desert Strike games. This has now been addressed by adjusting the timer between spawns when a set amount of units has been reached.

Kerrigan Banner Transfer
Ever had a game where it started as a 3v3 but worked its way down to a 2v2?
This handy little feature makes it so that when a player leaves a match, their kerrigan gets transferred to an ally.
I can still ban in 2v2 YAYYY!!
Split Spawn Locations
My latest invention on ds maps is making the spawns split into multiple locations behind your ally temple.
This is done to address
2 issues.
1.This will prevent units from stumbling across each other as they spawn.2.This will insure that there is adequate room for units to be placed onto the battlefield as they're created preventing the dreaded "unplaceable bug". Failed to get ImageSize (

Split Pre Spawn
To further more reduce the unplaceable bug, each teams pre-spawn pad has been split up into 5 locations. Multiple triggers have been set for each unit type being created (mostly on air units but also on big units ground).
We will use the Battlecruiser spawn for example. When players have 1-8 Physics Labs, they are created at the first location. Physics Labs 9-16 will create Battlecruisers at the second location. So on and so forth.
Through many hours of testing, new levels of unit spawn have been reached.
Income Delay Timer
After a player has built a refinery/assimilator/extractor, their building will be removed and a crashed Norad will appear burning above or below your base (depending on which team you're on). If you click on this Norad, it's health will display how much time you have left until your income is back online.

Reconstructed Specials
Specials have now been designed to use vespene resources.
After a set amount of time vespene resources will be activated for all players and you will start gaining vespene as an income.
All players cap off at 3800 vespene. This addresses 2 known issues with Desert Strike.
1. It prevents the Terran race from lifting their buildings to gain minerals for specials
2. It prevents players from saving for multiple specials thus preventing a spam of non stop specials.
Faulty Boom Prevention
There are
3 methods of prevention on booms. The first one being abstinence
Boom On 0 MenBooms will be moved to safety when there are no men on your side of the battlefield. While still allowing "weak" booms, this will prevent players from using the boom on 0 units
Boom Immediately After BoomAfter a boom has been used, any players trying to boom shortly following will have their boom moved to safety.
Boom Immediately After SpecialBooms will be moved to safety for a short span of time after a special has been used.[/color]
