I was trying to look for information on forcing AI upgrades for items such as Infantry Upgrades / Armor as well as zerg and protoss equals. I was not able to find any but I heard some rumors saying that its possible to control a computer player to upgrade its units (attack / armor) upgrades. It would be extremely useful in my current map project. If anyone knows how to acheive this please explain or point me to a tutorial.
The way i would implement this would be if a certain amount of that computer's units have been killed then it would upgrade its attack upgrades by 1. Thats just an example, might not have that as the condition though.
If any more information is needed just ask.
Edit: This is also not referring to the tech upgrades because I know how to just give the computer player a unit with the existing upgrades to transfer.
None.
AFAIK it isn't possible.
I believe there might have been a way to force a particular race (Zerg?) to upgrade their attack/defense to 2 by using a particular campaign AI script, but who knows what else it would do to your map, and apparently it only let them upgrade to 2 and it wasn't a repeatable "+1" style of script.
If you're playing single player or with EUD enabler you can write EUD actions to give upgrades.
None.
It's true, it's pretty much impossible.
If this is a single player map then there's a few techniques you can use.

The upgrade +2 would be ok with me as well. Its better than nothing. Do you know which AI script that would be and how i would process that?

Thanks for the link, i looked into it and i really cant figure it out. I am not familiar with ai scripts. one of the links that was on that post was this
http://www.broodwarai.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=608&st=0&gopid=7525&#entry7525Though I dont follow with what (1-30) means... etc.
Just getting confused.

That's the priority or whatever. When you make AI scripts, you set priorities to each command and the computer does the ones with the highest priority first or something. I can't remember exactly what it is, but it's something like that. ;o
That's modding stuff that doesn't really apply directly here. The thread is saying that if you run a certain combination of AI scripts the computer will upgrade when attacked.
Post 11 has an example map for Terran upgrades, and
post 8 describes Protoss upgrades.
EDIT: Presumably, you can stop the script from upgrading by removing its upgrade structures. And then you can give them back when it needs to upgrade.

I know, but he was wondering what the (1-30) meant, and I think that's the priority set by Blizzard in their AI Scripts.

I will be able to use the Protoss method but the priority would be to upgrade zerg upgrades. Is there a way to do that as well.? For zerg I would want to upgrade every unit type such as melee/range/air. for protoss im just planning to upgrade the melee. And if there is a way. Can I see some example code? That would help me better understand.

Just wondering if anyone has discovered some example triggers for me to use for Zerg upgrades. I have tried testing and am unable to get what I am looking for.
