I'm trying to figure out how I can make a trigger where if one person has a hydra and someone kills it then it will create 2 more hydras to take it's place. Only 2 hydras though. Everything I do seems to keep making them continuously. I would like to preserve the trigger for each time someone kills a hydra so it reproduces only 2 but can come back to that trigger cycle again and again.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

The problem is finding out where the hydra is killed. If it's a fixed location something like this should work:
Trigger
Players
  • Player 8
  • Conditions
  • Current Player brings at most 0 Hydralisk to 'check for dead hydras'
  • Actions
  • create 2 Hydralisk at 'check for dead hydras'
  • Preserve

  • Keep in mind that this trigger also fires if the hydra just leaves its location.

If it doesn't matter where they died use this:
    Trigger
    Players
  • Player 8
  • Conditions
  • Current Player has suffered at least 1 death of Hydralisk
  • Actions
  • Set deaths of Hydralisk for Current Player to 0
  • Create 2 Hydralisk for Current Player at 'Spawn new hydras here'
  • Preserve

  • Both triggers assume P8 is the player owning the hydras.

If both assumptions above how you keep track of the dead hydras are incorrect then things probably get difficult so you'll have to elaborate on your exact setup.

Assuming you to, spawning hydras where a hydra died is hard.

A way to overcome this, and this only works if the players have a few attacking units, is to have locations that track each hydra. Center a location that is as big as the range of the player's unit on said unit. If player 2 (hydra player) brings a hydra to this location, center a very small location on it and create a burrowed unit. Give hydra to player three. Cycle through all these burrowed units and move them to their respective hydras. Keep in mind that the burrowed units will slow down the hydras considerably, so you may want to have a delay on the center.

Adding on to the second poster, you can...
    Condition: Always
Actions: Center location "hydra center" on unit hydra owned by Player x.

This centers the location onto the hydra. Let's hope this is my first comment that's not deleted...
