This happened to me as I was dropping down a dark pit that I think Cardinal had dug to get to the underworld:



Odd, I ended up inside a wall and had to dig my way out. I decided to go left to see if I could link back up with the main shaft but instead I found a cave with some goodies.

Then I went back in the opposite direction and mined my way back into the pit:

We got a Fraps of us killing the Eye of Cthulu, and not sure if we Fraps'd the Eater of Worlds encounter... Then me and LoveLess killed the Skeletor guy and raided the dungeon for some tasty phat loot.

MZ planted corruption seeds next to our house, and I taught that corruption a lesson. Think that was recorded too

Not quite.

You need 10 Lenses which drop from Demon Eyes to make a 'Suspicious Looking Eye' - which you can only make at a Demon Altar. Using the suspicious eye during day-time will insta-kill you and anyone nearby, but at Night-time it'll summon the Eye of Cthulu.

For the Eater of Worlds, he will summon for every 3 Shadow Orbs you kill, and you can craft Worm Bait out of 30 Vile Powder (which are made from Vile Mushrooms) and 15 Rotten Chunks - again at the Altar. You have to use the Wormbait in the Corruption otherwise you will die.

You summon the currently 'final' boss, Skeletron or Skeletor or whatever, by speaking to the Old Man outside the Dungeon at night-time. If you go in the dungeon during day-time, you will get killed by a Skull that does 9999 damage. If you go in at night-time, lots of skulls spawn but they deal regular Skeletor damage.
