1) Not really. I didn't want to ask any questions. 2) Yes and no. Those are dialogs over the default UI. The question was about using the hide UI trigger and then trying to use hotkeys from the default UI command card. If you don't understand, make a map with a unit that has an ability, then hide the UI, test the map, and then try to use that ability using the hotkey. It won't work. The question was about whether or not they will let that work.
Been watching quite a bit of the RTS tournament on the free stream... Bit disappointed really - i've seen much better games in terms of both quality of gameplay and better shoutcasting/commentating.
It is quite ridiculous how a function such as 'Hide Game UI' also disables hotkeys etc. It should be called Disable UI. The only way to get around this is to either keep the Game UI not hidden, and tactically create dialogues over it so that your custom UI is shown - or to use key-press events and lengthy input validation statements to get players to be able to issue hotkey orders to units. I havn't really played around much with trying to get around the UI though, and I am not sure if it is possible to do (using triggers) this: 'player presses - a' order 'all units currently selected by player' to 'attack-move' to wherever the player 'clicks next'.
Keep us posted on the Blizzcon Devlin - you're doing a good job
Blizzard is introducing 4 new Custom maps: StarJeweled, Aiur Chef, Left 2 Die and who would've guessed, Blizzard DotA.
Well Fuck... Obviously the newest stuff will be from their own games
Also, notice that these 4 games have all been done before... Bejeweled, Cooking mama (maybe?), Left 4 Dead, and of course, DotA.
wtf is Aiur chef anyways.. cooking zerg and terran meat for protoss? .. that's actually pretty awesome. XD the rest is kinda lame in the sense that they are copies of other games D:
Btw, as for Left 2 Dead, I'm not sure if you guys have seen the map, but they basically stole the idea from someone else. Indeed, someone of the SC2 community has already released a Co-Op version of the Outbreak campaign mission.
Silly Blizzard!
Anyways, I hope Blizzard DOTA gave you ideas for your map!
We all bitch and moan about Blizzards 'blanket-censorship' which seemingly 'protects them' in a 'legal sense' but now they just rip off 4 other games and put up a big fuck you sign
Nice...
The one good thing to come from all this is new models, effects, doodads and maybe even terrain tilesets. Can't wait to get more content. I have always felt (in comparing Galaxy Editor to World Editor) that there is a total lack of content. World Editor had 100's of Neutral Creeps, 4 Races each with 20+ units and 15+ structures. And what's more, everything seemed more focussed and linear... For example Ogre creeps had 4 variations (magi, bruiser, something else and warlord), made map-making to a theme much easier. Same with Dragons, Murlocs, Naga, Pandaren, Centaurs, Tauren, Trolls, Daemons, Fel-Orcs, Bandits/Rogue Wizards etc... I doubt Galaxy Editor will ever reach that level of saturated content (well, maybe in 10 years after Legacy of the Void comes out - and we're all penniless)

They were all linked up with a ton of routers. Different games had them set up in different ways. The Diablo 3 arena computers linked 6 together (3 on one team and 3 on the other), Blizzard DotA connected 10 together (5 against 5), and the King of the Hill area connected 1v1 matches. I believe each game was just connected locally, though.
