I think it'd be fair if I clarified sound propagation a bit:
- Like seeing, you have to make some kind of listening/observation action to hear things beyond your immediate 'area'.
- Someone yelling loudly can be heard *all the way up to adjacent areas only, though.
- If you're busy with a light task (like checking pockets), you may not properly discern someone saying something unless it's directed right to you.
- If you're busy with a heavy task (like enduring mutilation), you probably won't hear anyone saying anything at all.
- Like seeing, you have to make some kind of listening/observation action to hear things beyond your immediate 'area'.
- Someone yelling loudly can be heard *all the way up to adjacent areas only, though.
- If you're busy with a light task (like checking pockets), you may not properly discern someone saying something unless it's directed right to you.
- If you're busy with a heavy task (like enduring mutilation), you probably won't hear anyone saying anything at all.
