I order you to forgive yourself!

Here is an almost perfect copy of how it used to look. With a couple minor differences.

That was a pretty nice skin I had made and I think it could be good to remake it but I'm not sure how much people would like to use it.

I sometimes used the old Augustgrad, and I'm not too attached to any of the current skins, so I'd probably use it if it were remade.

I love the terran pictures, although not sure I like the repeated desert picture in the bg.

PyMS and ProTRG developer

imo the background color is too bright and the green draws too much attention to itself. I think the green would be perfect for the notification popup though.

Would it be better if it was a fixed width? like the carbonite use to be.

Aug 30 2010, 3:36 am FoxWolf1 Post #6

I like variable width because the fixed ones always end up too small on my 1920x1200 laptop screen. I'm sure others have similar issues.

Would a relative fixed width be better? (Fixed in percentage like 85%)

Totally agree. I ported Carbonite to SENv5.1 and it looks ridiculously small on my 1920x1080.

Relative fixed might help, I guess, but you're still looking at having the background images repeat (which is what the idea of a fixed width was supposed to counter, in this case). I also agree that the Marine and Raynor in the old Augustgrad were pretty good and the desert needed some changin'.

What was so appealing about Carbonite was the gutters, not the thinness of the page's content, all you need is to add like 200px border to either side, and variably expand the center area, fix the side's width, and expand the center.

That skin was made at the time when I was still practicing with Photoshop. Now that I got GIMP, expect better work.

I started working on the skin, here is what I got so far:

For now, I kept almost everything as close as possible to the original. I will change the the background repeat in the header once I make something better.

Suggestions are welcome.

I like it, though I think that the blank black area to the right of the quicksearch (above the user stuff, below the marine) might be a little awkward-looking. Definitely digging the tan-with-green theme-- it kind of reminds me of a certain camouflage scheme:

Here is the new look. I'm starting to like it a lot already.

Yeah, looks slick. Are you going to redo the header, still?

Agreed, all those changes were already on my TODO list. ;D I will redo the header but for now I kept it the same as before.

It's not my .... style so I'm not going to use it but the only problem I'd have with it is adding borders to the headers.

Any updates on this? I'd still be interested in using it if it were finished.

Maybe, I just don't know who to ask to in order to upload it since Devourer is gone.

Edit: I just realized this was my 666th post!
