Does the amount of hyper triggers you have on a map affect anything? Like is 4 slower than 10? I'm trying to set up some DC timers on my map and this is my first time doing it. If the amount of hyper triggers affects how fast the death count flows, then whats a good amount of triggers to use for a timer, and how fast would the timer be for that amount of triggers? As in #ofDC=1 second

Depends what you are calling hyper triggers.

There is only one 'speed' of hyper triggers, which means the triggers run every second frame. On Fastest there are 23.81 frames per second, so hyper triggers work out to about 11.9 per real time second.

In terms of actual triggers that contain waits, you only need 3 or 4 that have 63 wait actions (and an optional comment). Adding additional triggers after that doesn't make any difference. Basically the way these waits work is exponential stacking and you're trying to avoid a 'window' of no hyper triggers being run. 4 triggers x 63 wait actions equates to something like a couple of weeks of in-game play time before the hyper triggers run out.

So to answer your question: just have 4 triggers with 63 or 64 'wait 0' actions in them for your hypers. Hypertriggers run 11.9 times per real second in Fastest mode, so if you want to count 1 second of real time and you deduct 1 DC every trigger period, 1 real second = 12 DCs. If you want 10 real seconds, then use 119 DCs.

Any amount of hypers will always check the triggers 12 times a second, therefore 12DC = 1 second.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Unless you expect your map to last more than 5 hours 3 hypers are enough.
After that time the NEO (Next Ending Occurrence) kicks in and you have 1 trigger loop lasts 1.5 seconds instead of the usual 83ms. After this one trigger loops hypers restart and function normally for another 5.5 hours, so even if you run into the NEO it's not a big deal.
And that's all there is to number of hyper triggers.
