After talking with a master engineer, it seems he has discovered a method... that gives computer the ability to detect the difference between 3D objects and 2D objects and sense everything us humans do. And he wants me to write the program for it.. The effects of this technology could be used for autonomous robotics... that could be used to help people in many ways... and help war. Why send a man when you can send a machine thats 100x faster and stronger?
I don't know if I want to develop the software in the case it is used for war... what do you think?
None.
Anything can be used for fighting, some more than others. You just have to do what you think must be done, do the benefits outweigh the risks?
None.
I would so take it...here is my point on the war:
Although frying pans are for cooking, they are used to fight sometimes, so will robotics.
None.
Your friend overestimates his abilities.
my friend used to be a weapons engineer with the government. He is very experienced in what he does.
None.
We have nukes which can blow up the world. Who gives a fuck what else we create.
None.
Relatively ancient and inactive
Well, when they make nukes that can destroy and/or irradiate areas in specific shapes to a defined accuracy, that'll help
.
None.
Whats so scary is making a B-2 bomber armed with nuclear weapons run by an autonomous machine. That machine doesn't have morals, and it can't think rationally. All it does is follow its programming, which might be a complex AI.

One word comes to mind...
TERMINATOR
None.
Yep, I thought about that too.
None.
Everything is used for war, why not add to war's arsenal of killing devices? You might as well help develop man-kind and create a war machine. Most of what we use was developed in war. So what if it accidently launches a few missles? We had problems with nuclear reactors and we still use them.
Heck even the Internet was developed from the U.S. Military.
None.
Develop it. If it's successful you'll get rich.
None.
Odds are if you don't develop it, he will hire someone else. Might as well reap the profit.
Yep, thats a good idea. Now I have to do some research.
None.
Imagine what would happen if we used this computer technology with these technologies (more developed of course).
suit 1suit 2I told you... TERMINATOR
None.
@ that guy in the first movie, Just raid the government already.
@ second movie STORMSHIP TROOPERS!!!!!
None.
Big, blaring question: Why do people take these idiotic claims seriously? If you were working on a project that was that important, you sure as hell wouldn't be posting about it on here. Let's all talk on incredibly theoretic, dare I say fictitiously theoretic, terms!
None.
Seeing as how there's no such thing as 2D objects I will have to call BS.
None.
