How about in Star ocean (untill the end of time I think it was called? The one with the blue haired dude trying to save sophia) When he found out his entire life was fake and he was just a computer simulation? I fucking shat my pants... after all that.
I didn't make it past that part because I cheesed the whole way up to that part where you have to fight the Grim reaper or angel being and i didn't have another save point to restock or grind/level up to get stronger. No way was i gonna restart the entire shit.
