The last book I have read is A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore.
I have never had more fun reading a book until I tried Christopher Moore.

Enjoy! That seems like something I may want to add to my list as well, my dad always talks about it but I've never read it myself. (Hitchhikers guide) Haven't heard much about Dune.
I'm really interested in Greek mythology and the like right now, I recently remembered reading a small section of the Iliad in High School and I really enjoyed it so I decided to pick up the whole story. After I might pick up the Divine Comedy.

... I haven't read much lately. Hoping getting a Kindle will change that. Notable books/authors:
- Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series - They're odd, sometimes awesome, have some interesting stories and tie in well with other novels to create a very weird universe. Also see "It" (Long, creepy, sometimes horrifying, great book) and "The Stand" (Plague kills off most of the human race, two centers of power form in the post-apocalyptic world that need to kill the other off. Awesome, epic book). And some others, like "Desperation" and "The Eyes of the Dragon" (King's take on plain fantasy). Maybe "The Shining".
- Richard Lee Byers's series "The Rage" and "Unclean" - It's similar to generic hack-and-slash fantasy, but I like him in that he actually works to make it hard to predict what will happen without ruining the storyline. They're unpredictable and generally fun to read if you like hack-and-slash.
- "War of the Spider Queen" - also generic hack-and-slash, also unpredictable and epic, six book series by six authors. It may not be deep, but still very fun to read.
And for the more educational type, I somewhat recently read "From Yalta to Berlin" by W. R. Smyser, which details from the end of WWII to the fall of the USSR the conflicts between the US and the USSR and how they all centered around Germany. Very informative, somewhat slow but generally not boring.
