Set Colors for Players 9-12?

Hi, I'm working on a map. It needs 4 Humans, 1 Computer, and 7 Rescuable Players. The Rescuable Players need to each have their own specific color for the map I'm working on. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to change the colors for P9-P12. I've tried doing it like this as well: P1-P7 (rescuable) P8 (Computer, and P9-P12 (Humans). None of these methods have worked.

Again, for the map I'm making, it needs to be like this:
4 Humans (Any Color)
1 Computer (Any Color)
7 Rescuables (Specific Colors)

P9-12 are neutral players. No way to set them rescueable or any other player state/owner. The best you can do is simulate it with triggers by giving units.
Furthermore you can't set their minimap colors. All you can do is give them from a player so this player's unit color is retained on the unit.

Back* from the grave

You're going to run into some problems: you cannot edit the color of p9-p12, and they are neutral/aggressive, depending on certain conditions. Triggers will not run for them, but triggers can affect them. If you avoid the conditions that make them aggressive, namely attacking them, they can be used as rescuable. If you need them to be a certain color that they are not already, however, that is completely unalterable. You can only edit p1-p8 team colors.

ok, then is there no way to change a unit's color, while retaining ownership other than giving units from a player with the color?

i dont mean to hijack this but i thought it wudnt be worth it to make a new topic, my question is why is it that sumtimes if u shoot a unit from p9-11 that they attack u for a second and stop, i know they dont have vision even with themseleves so how can they attack you if u attak them?

wangie look at this it mite give u a clear understanding of p9-12 http://www.staredit.net/topic/7783/ scroll down to the p9-12 tab

The general rule is a unit has always the color of it's owner. But when you give units to one of P9-12 the color will not be updated.
And yeah, there's no way to change that.

i know but as long as i have lets say P5-P8 set as rescuable, the unit color will not be updated once taken control of?

Correct.

It'd be nice if we could use this "keep original colour" for regular units of P1-8, eg P1 is red and you give the unit to P2 who is blue, it would stay red. This would let you distinguish 'reinforcements' from regular units for that player. A method for this could be done using regular rescuable computers, but that doesn't help if you're already using all 8 slots for something else.

I expect there's no tricky way to get around this though?

1.) People respect you more when you can form coherent sentences :).

2.) They can briefly see units that are attack them. You know how, when a ghost or siege tank or something is sniping from a cliff, and you wouldn't normally be able to see them, but they appear for about half a second right after they hit you? That's what the thing about p9-11 attacking you is.

Also, to the OP: Is there a particular reason you need 7 rescuables? Why not just 1? Players set to "rescuable" are insensitive to who's rescuing them, so it'd be kind of pointless to have more than one unless you specifically wanted the different colors (and if you did, as others have said, p9-11 wouldn't help with that).

Give to P12 until given player moves to location of "rescuable" unit. Then proceed to give back to rescuable computer.
