What are your hobbies?

Gaming, making stuff, rocketry, backyard smelting, shenanigans, other..stuff.
Maybe talk to n2o-Simpsons about his chemistry thread, including this post. ;)
Seriously, though...if he lives close enough, maybe you two could do a collab sorta thing.

Get the hell out of my state. We have no need for you time wasters.

Mar 8 2010, 10:05 pm phlemhacker Post #24

Your state? I don't waste time, I just spend it on activities other than school.

On another note:
Progress! I did some extra credit. Go me.

Well I am extremely unmotivated when it comes to university as well, but I motivate myself by buying CD's whenever I actually do homework or go to class. I'd be like "Self, you cannot go to the show next week unless you go to all your classes from here til then" and Self listens most of the time.
lol

It put the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.

The funny thing is, I knew exactly what I wanted to do all through high school, it just fell apart when I got up here. You're right though, hopefully a year off will prove enlightening.
No, it won't. If you don't care now, taking a break will not magically make you care later on. Despite what movies may have taught us, the perfect things you need don't just land in your lap, be it the perfect job, the perfect woman, or the perfect epiphany that changes you and solves all your problems. You must motivate yourself now. Not later; now, and you have to be the one to make it happen. If you squander what you have before you, you will come to regret your choices later in life when you find certain opportunities are closed off.

What does going to school really mean to you? Have you worked? More to the point, have you worked enough crappy, unfulfilling jobs to realize you want more out of life?

Are you depressed? Do you feel inadequate? You may not actively think these things, but do you feel it?

Mar 8 2010, 10:30 pm phlemhacker Post #29

I dunno, I've talked to a lot of people, including my dad that have said they wished they took a year off just to get their crap together. Others have said they did and it was a good idea. Movies haven't influence me at all. I have worked pretty crappy jobs and know I don't want to do that and no, I'm not depressed, and don't feel inadequate. I just have trouble getting motivated for long term goals. I do my best work when I have an, imminent, definite deadline to get something done by, and by imminent, I mean within a day or two. Anything after that is considered long term to me.

Vrael shouted: Idk, I was looking more for a dehumidifer company which maybe stands out as a beacon of relief amidst damp and unpredictable climates of bustling metropolises. Not sure Amazon qualifies

Vrael -- Maybe here on the StarEdit Network I could look through the Forums for some Introductions to people who care about the Topics of Dehumidifiers and Carpet Cleaning?
