We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

They ARE great games. I also thought of including them, but I wasn't sure if you can count them as futuristic...

Well they're about future after all.

Fallout 3 is based on what people in the 60's thought Post-Nuclear war would look like.

This. But seriously, gtfo with your Fallout 3. 1 and 2 are the ones really worth mentioning. 3 is a completely different game from a completely different company. They just ripped off the awesome concept of Fallout. Although I have to admit they did a great job with it.
They mainly use conventional weapons, the whole scenery, music and feel is 60's, but there's a few science fiction elements that are still since fiction today. This contradiction is part of the attraction of these games. It's all so familiar, but still strange.

I quite liked it. :P The way you could customize and control every movement your spaceship made was awesome. You can make about anything 'manual' from 'automatic' once you get good with the controls.

I agree, it was one of the best space games I've played.

I wanted a sequel and an accessible scenario editor, maybe even a skirmish mode of some kind.

Space Rangers 2: Reboot, is a fantastic game but I will warn you that it suffers a little from poor translation.

Also, Freespace 2 is good, and you can get it for $5.99 from GOG.com, I think.

The Fallout series is based on a 50s conception of 'the future', not 60s.

Praetor

Screw Fallout (I already have it anywho), I'm looking for game with like, spaceships, mechs, etc.

I'd really like a mech game, but there are no good new ones that I'm aware of.

The last good Mech game I played was Mech Commander Gold and Mech Commander 2.
After that the Mech hype died and there just were no games about it anymore.

Space Rangers 2 has mechs in the RTS part of the game.

If I had to suggest a good futuristic game, I would have to say Dead Space. I've played the entire game through, and am doing a second time with the special unlocks. (Level six military suit), This is a great game imo. Nicely done bosses and enemies, weapons are absolutely amazing once you spend the time to upgrade them. The storyline is great, characters are interesting. The only thing I didn't like about this game was the ending cutscene, but thats my opinion, I'm sure a lot of people liked it. Other than that, wonderful game, I would really suggest it even if its not what your looking for.

Dead space gets old IMO about halfway through, you fight the same things over and over and over and over and over and over again until a boss arrives. The achievements take forever (Especially hardest difficult) because you have to do things 3 times over just to get something you want. The greatest futureistic single player/fps/strategy game for the PC in my opinion (Will not work on Windows Vista and maybe not XP) is BattleZone and BattleZone II. I kept another computer on Windows '94 just to play it :D I would recommend that game if you can find it and/or find a computer with XP or earlier. Total Annihilation was a fun one, too.

Well I did loved Dead Space, but its because I am a Resident Evil fan... Dead Space is basically resident evil in a space ship with the ability to walk while shooting.

If you like Sins of a Solar empire that Nude Raider suggested in his first post, you may also like Homeworld2: The prince of freedom. Is ia basically a RTS in space with only space ships, your ''CC'' is a mothership, with which you can make other ships, ship factories or call in shipyards. Homeworld is a neat game, altho it sucks that I have a cracked version, I can only play by lan or IP, I can't use the internet service (claiming that this service is still online, this game is at least 8 years old and isn't really popular)

But... having a crack to install it on all your friends computers, you can make a great clusterfuck of space dogfight, which is very fun to see, the graphics being a respectable 7.5 out of 10 in my opinion, enough to be enjoyable and immersive, and enough to work on my under-average computer.

I'd like to find some futuristic games for the PC, but I'm bad at looking for stuffs.

Btw. you're wrong.
In strategic mech games Mech Commander is brilliant.
And in 3rd/1st person mech games the Mech Warrior series is pretty nice.

And yes, Homeworld 1+2 are also pretty neat.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

I've never played it, but the KotOR games are apparently awesome. Not really futuristic, as they all happened a long long time ago in a galaxy far away.

Played Knight of the Old Republic 1+2 and they they ARE awesome. Actually pretty much every Lucas Arts game. They seem to be the only game company still interested in making quality games. Their only "problem" is they specialized on Star Wars games and for some reasons those games don't get much attention.
