So I'm at a sort of writer's block in my map(that will have a production thread shortly). It's the map I alluded to a long time ago here -> http://www.staredit.net/topic/6863/ The map is an aos style that takes popular characters from popular b.net ums maps(kinda like nintendo does with its popular with its popular games in Super Smash Bros.) and mushes them together to fight it out. Without going too much into it, I want to have each hero use/require the same micro as the game it's from. For example, sniper will have to manually lock to attack.

The character I'm having the most trouble with it the Zombie(zealot). I wasn't a big raccoon city player. Zombies europa is the only zombie game I really play. I'm welcome to any sort of crazy active or passive zombie themed skills, even infinite respawns.
Here's the mess I came up with on my own. I hate it and would like better things. It can have a max of 5 spells. The spells can either cost 0,25,50,80,120 or 25,50,80,120,200

Lv1 Regenerate(25) - sets zombie hp to 4%. (told you they were bad)
Lv2 Crowd Control(50) - Any enemy spawn near an enemy hero is ordered to move towards the hero. GL retreating (only one I like and am keeping)
Lv3 Decay(80) - Turns into an infested terran. If it blows up via attack, respawns at base. If killed while IT, loses life.
Lv4 OM NOM NOM - ???? (just like the name. lulz)
Lv5 Bio-hazard - Basically OMFG-THEZOMBIES!!1
Lv1 Dead Skin(0) - Sets shield to 5.

And just FYI, this map will be open source, so if you have a really good spell ideas you know you can't trigger, if I use it then you can just copy it out of my map and put it in yours.

Howabout a spell that's sort of like a horde call spell where the zombie roars and zombies come out of dark corners and help you out. And after a while they all sort of deteriorate and die.

I guess this is sort of like bio-hazard but it would be neat if it roared and zombies spawned at markers placed on the map where people aren't looking, or you could use loveless's null on top of cliffs trick to make them come running down cliffs.

OMG that made me just think of something. Remember that map someone made with a giant blob of marines that stacked on each other(somethign to do with a powerup). Maybe I could use that with zealots..... but they can't stay stacked and attack so I don't know what the benefit should be.

Umm, this is sort of a really meh idea in my opinion, but how about a spell that makes it so that anything with HP below 50% HP EXCEPT heros walked to a location centered below the zombie is turned into another "weaker" zombie (maybe non-hero zealot?) or maybe infested terran with a MODERATE ammount of damage, then if it hits and doesn't kill anything but hurts something it can turn into another zombie or infested terran and spread the infection, but if zombies or infested terrans that exit the location centered below the hero zombie die, and after a while, every non-hero zombies or infested terrans die.

Also, if you plan on making the zombie walk, well, zombie-ishly (slow), then make it so that a spell can turn him into a "runner" (RE ftw) for a short time? Just a thought.

You obviously don't understand the limits of sc mapping T.T

thx for the 'infection' idea though. An infection themed spell would be suitable, and could work something like CW's spell in Norm's Hero Sanctuary.

Summons some sort of obelisk that affects all nearby hero units, continuously creating minor zombies on top of them until the obelisk is destroyed or expires. :P Or a spell that does damage based on the amount of nearby units (allied and enemy), more units = more creating whatever does damage, like scouts or guardians.

Nope, i don't understand the limits. Just a thought...

So, anyways, how about you make this thing that, there's a small location below zombie hero, and any spawns inside it turn into infested terrans or maybe just non-hero zealots with 50% HP or something (to simulate them being "biten" first), and then they're free to go anywhere, but you'd have to use them really well since they're weak.

And, maybe... toxic puke? Metal Slug ftw...

Also, maybe if you choose to use zombies instead of infested terrans for the "biting" spell, you could make it so that there's another spell to blow 'em up, so they serve both purposes? :P.

Also, toxic bite. I believe that's enuff said >.>.

Personally, I always wanted to see a map where the zombies kill something and turn it into another zombie. That would be fun, mass zombies!

Also, my map Sanctuary uses the effect sammy was talking about.

I did this PvP style in Mini Zombie Tag. Someone else did a much cooler PvE style of this. Called Evil RPG or something. I heard it was a success.

After you do down the corridors for a while, up the stairs. Go down the little trolley-path, without touching science vessels, and they come off the walls. Just follow the same direction, which is like, what, southeast?

Spawn a powerup underneath a unit, watch it go crazy.

Sleeping wolves wake hungry.

Think left 4 dead, grab some abilities from there.

I'm thinking it could be a summoner-type thing, and have similar but slightly less powerful zombies as summons.

How about it has an area where it stores items for every kill he has (to a limit, of course), and he can choose to turn some of these into zombies, runners, maybe some kind of tyrant (again, RE ftw), or something. And the better unit your "conversion" ability turns your kills into, the more kills it consumes?

OH HEY. It could be like a sort of zombie alchemy so the more kills you have the better the zombie is, or you could choose to have a crapload of weaker zombies.

Summon Hero overlulz. The overlord lasts for a couple of seconds, it flies over a hero then auto spawn of lings and hydras or some other generic zombie like units. Something along those lines. Zombie should play like the Mech. Except Zombiefied. He shouldn't be able to transform back to previous form as a show of "mutation". The only way he can revert back is by using his ultimate spell which is some sort of "unleashing spell" that brings him back to the original zombie unit. IMO of course.

Perhaps the ability to detect the scent of brains? (Read: show minimap pings over all enemies.) 'Course, I've no idea what an AOS map is, so this might not even be relevant. (If it's a small map where enemies are always visible, for example, then this'd be completely useless.)

Possibly the ability to briefly exude spores for a time? 'Could damage nearby units. (If you're using vHP, you could visually display this by irradiating the zombie (or an Observer above it) and setting the zombie unit to invincible.)

25,50,80,120,200 you say? ;). Just throwing in my two cents about skills for zombies ;)

Wait AoS map correct? Kinda like Hero Seige? Or those Naruto games? xD. Where players duke it out in an arena?

25 - Sacrifice - Sacifices its body to damage any neighboring units (including allies... that's the fun of zombies xD. Simply ravanging everything around them) then recreates itself as a weak unit (you choose ;]) and once it goes back to base... changes back to Zealot form. (I know.. it sucks XD. Just throwing random crap.)

50 - Ravange - Uhh Passive? No idea... Life Steal (Certain amount of health?) Not sure if this is possible... if not..
Infest - Takes control of a unit (be it ally or enemy) forever.

80 - Bloodlust (or Hunger...) - (Possibly passive?) Pings all heroes on minimap (allies and enemies I just fucking love how zombies have no loyalty eh?)
If you don't like that... possibly... when near a hero (ally or enemy) by casting this, spawn a unit (you choose ;]) above all heroes with possibly an unallied computer. (Unallied to heroes but allied to computer controlled units?) attacking it for a set amount of damage.

120 - Rend Flesh - Replace normal Zombie with a stronger, faster Zombie, dealing more damage and speed for a certain amount of time (you choose ;]).

Last but not least ;)

200 - Rain of Terror - Computer-controlled Zombies spawn near hero Zombie, attacking everything near them, friends and foes alike.

Well there you go... I don't know how many will make it or if any actually will.. but good luck ;]. I hope to see this map hosted lots.
