I remember testing this forever ago when it was completely different, doesnt even look like the same map. Did you decide to completely start it over at some point? I liked the old map, though this one is quite fun, albeit glitchy.

I covered this in the OP; the inventory system isn't finished, and as such buttons that do nothing.. Don't do anything. You'll have to just push the right buttons for now, or reload any scvs that don't load by hand. If you use the inventory correctly you won't really have any scvs that don't load.

Thanks for the replies everyone, they help! When I get back I want to get working on more of the inventory after I go through the things talked about in this topic. I want to increase my unique item count (which is at like 17 right now in the demo).

I realized not too long ago, that the version I originally submit had a testing trigger in the map which started you out with 50 gold. This is a bad thing, since the first city on my RPG has a short task for you to complete involving money, and this testing trigger completely ruined it. I implore everyone to get this new file and at least re-run through the beginning town, as it explains and forces to the player to do quite a few things necessary to play the game. No other changes were made the map, however.

I played it with a friend (he was Red, I was blue), and when we got to the Tranquil Sprite soul, only he was able to get it. He did get there first. He later died and lost all souls, I revived him and then tried getting that soul, but I still couldn't get it. Was it a one person only soul?

Last thing I want to ask, when you get to access the Forge, are you supposed to also get the Evolution Chamber too? Or is that later. (Because it was still not ours to use after we got the forge.)

I really like it though, cool ideas, and fun to play.

I can't seem to get rid of it, apparently. If you can still download it, it's a pretty cool method of pulling a "level". You walk up next to the machine shop, and you gain control of it. Then you research siege mode, it plays a sound, and you temporarily lose control of the machine shop.

I had posted it for Ultimo, who has quite evilly named his map the same as yours, confusing me initially (thus I edited post after I realized my error), and still confusing users like LoXs. Blame Ultimo/Taylor Swift for everything. However, I'll be happy to put the lever system into anyone's map, or explain it to them.

Oh, so the one I DLed from Ultima is a different map? Yeah, I see it now. Description doesn't match at all. lol. Dang, I was duped!

EDIT: I just played Cecil's version offline, and it's pretty fun. I like the system of distributing attribute stuff. The "Action" action is cool, instead of just walking all over and activating script when you hit the right spot.

I didn't play that far into it. I'm just trying to figure out now how I DLed Ultima's map, and offline it was yours. Hmm, I guess I actually did DL both but I just don't remember doing so. >_>

Okay, I'm just stupid. I DLed it from a friend when I couldn't find it on here. lol

I don't think somebody mentioned it (not that it would be a first time that I missed something), but if you didn't catch it already, when you walk to the guy who gives the explanations for the spells/menu etc, he says "you can use the gateway to access you inventory faster". It might have been worded it differently, but the main thing I was pointing out was the 'you.'

Your welcome. I also think I found something else. When I first bought a Troll Ring, I kept my gold and then could buy two Red Orbs. Now, not that I find that necessarily bad with that, but to a map maker I can see that it would need fixing. =P lol

I was playing offline, so I was first player. And it was the first ring I bought, I haven't tried it again. I'll save up some now to try it out again.

EDIT: Well, I was player Teal. so I guess fourth player.

Another script thing: When you finish the first sub quest to find the soul box things, when you finish it and go to the area that the door was locked, after the one spirit says he say Eury, you say "You saw so-and-so? I have to find. Can you help me?" (Probably worded it differently again, but the italic is the main point of interest. Sure you knew that already, but w/e. lol)

And I'm not sure if you wanted it like this, but the one sunken in the room with the lurkers was constantly attacking the Treasure box that contains five gold.

EDIT: Before I make another claim, how exactly does the spell system work? The gas counts down, so are you supposed to not be able to cast spells while you still have gas? Because I was able to keep casting the healing and the count just kept going up by ten, and I only did it up to 27 though.

No, that was not intended, I believe that would be just because I forgot to set invince on that box. Did it attack you when you walked into the room?

Edit: Yeah, the mana system is a little different. For every vespene you have, you gain a 1.5% chance of a spell failure. If you do some simple math, you'll find out that anything => 50 will auto-spell fail. When a spell fails, just simply try to cast it again. Green orbs subtract 25 vespene instantly :D

Edit: I made the mana system this way so that you can cast spells at the same time as other ones. It gives the player more freedom to create their own strategies pertaining to spell casting.

Oh yeah, it switched targets. Kind of ran it close killing it, went down to 1 HP before I used the healing spell again. In case you didn't see it, I edited in some questions in my other most recent post.

EDIT: Never mind, I figured out the spell system after trying something out. The less gas, the more likely the spell will succeed.

I couldn't try to buy a Troll Ring a second time, because it say's he's out of stock, so that's working.

Is the Blue Orb supposed to heal shields? (I know someone said something about it sooner, but I like Oorb better.) xD

Yeah, that's a cool spell system. And having it be a Overlord to use spells makes it easier to combo stuff. Another thing, does the "Toggle" in the overlord toggle spells from Offensive-Defensive, or was it for player control of the hero?

Also the scripting part again, here's the part I think isn't right. "You've seen Eurydice? I've got to get to right now!. Could you open this door for me?" And the scripting right before that part, the shady soul refers to Eurydice as "They" and then "She" right after that, so I'm not sure if you'd want to change that "they" or not.

Forgot to add something. >_> After you finish the find the scattered soul bits quest and he unlocks the door, later if you walk passed him, he'll go through the scripting again and make you pause there. You still have control of the zealot, but it acts similarly as if he's stunned like in TS by Volt's L1. So if you were running from spawn, it would make you sit there taking hits and having to click spam to attack until the scripting is over.

Another scripting part: In the first town in Dystopia, and you talk to that guy next to the academy, the hero says something along the lines of "Yes. I'm (word) are (word) are." And then after he assumes you're the friend she was searching for, the hero doesn't say yes or anything, and just says "I'll go look for her now". I couldn't get the scripting to activate again, so I couldn't type it out exactly as it was said.

Just finished beating the demo (took 45 minutes) including beating all 3 side-quests. Took a bit to get used to the spell system and the menu but it was nice once I got used to it. Equipting items and using some items to heal/recharge faster was difficult at times but I got used to it. Very nice town layout and terrain in general. It took me a while to figure out that I had to say yes to the guy looking at the view to get the plot going (I kept telling him no :lol:). But it was nothing a couple attempts couldn't solve. I found myself using the dragoon feature all over trying to find stuff. Oh yea, I found the hidden box on my second attempt playing (first time I died near a sunken with the lurker spikes around when collecting some stuff carelessly.

Oh yea, what happens if you survive the jail escape? I got it down to just one sucider left before dying and wondered how the story would have progressed if I hadn't become a Lost Soul as quickly. Oh yea, when the King is talking it should be Guards seize him instead of sieze him. Hope you manage to finish this sometime, quite a cliffhanger to leave off the demo on--I mean not even a look at the boss? Clearly boss is still in the conceptual stage :).

Not that I enjoy trying to find loopholes in the game (and especially not such obscure ones,) but I found a small glitch in your menu system:

Though the units present in each tile of the menu are repeatedly ordered to move back to the center of their repective tiles, I've found that this isn't quite enough...

After repeatedly issuing a move order to the Protoss Shuttle and the Zerg Overlord, I managed to displace the Overlord to another tile and broke the Shuttle from the menu portion of the map completely! Following this, a series of triggers (that were not really designed for such an occurence) began firing, and I eventually exited the game.

Though this would be a little time-consuming, I would suggest creating border locations that teleport the units back to the center of each tile should they enter them, instead of having locations that repeatedly order the units to the same spot. That way, you can prevent such occurrences with a (slightly more) failsafe system.

Note: The reason why this somewhat pointless loophole is even the slightest bit significant is that players who "liberate" their shuttle can use it to ferry their main character to normally blocked places, opening up an avenue of pseudo-cheating. (It really isn't effective cheating, as I know there are a number of triggers that require prerequisite conditions to be fulfilled, limiting access to the number of quests available. Anyways, who are they cheating against- themselves?)

Well, correct it if you want to, because as I said, it really is just a rather trivial and obscure glitch.
