Hello, I have seen many, many, AoS remakes or spinoffs, *cough* DotA *cough* TS *cough* HoN *cough* DotX *cough* Athlit *cough* HS *cough*
BUT, I have decided, that LoL is my favorite of them all. The reasons I play it, is because I find it more light-hearted than the other DotA style games, it's a alot of fun (for me), and the best computer in my house, the "piece of trash" as I call it, can barely run it at 9 fps on the lowest detail setting. (Since HoN's requires higher minimum specs, I presume it can't run it at all.)
Anyhow, I play
Ryze, Kassadin, Karthus, and I am more than willing to add as a friend, anybody here on SEN who plays, or who would like to play LoL.

LuvLesLoL is much different from HoN. While HoN wants to be DotA's heir, LoL takes DotA and adds a sense of customization. It won't be the next DotA, but it seems promising as it's own game.
So stop comparing apples to oranges.

Hey, you mentioned me.

M.O.G.A. of choice. (My Overpowered Ganking arsenal, or whatever you decide it stands for.)
I am well aware of the HoN topic above this one... with it's near 1000 posts. I don't care. I came here to talk about LoL.

Not even by you Excalibur. I just signed my death warrant... didn't I?I don't play LoL, but I can TOTALLY AGREE with the bolded statement above.

There are many reasons why LoL is worse than many other AoS's.... Basically all of which make it very very unbalanced and noob-oriented. I'm not flamin you personally Olimar, but overall, LoL offers no competitive viability (in addition to being a money siphon).
Wow... You do realize that Dota is actually based on AoS, and therefore AoS is not a dota spinoff, but Dota is an AoS spinoff....
I can't believe nobody else noticed this.

As probably one of the only people who's played LoL, I can't say I find it as strategically in-depth as HoN.
The nature of the spells being far more spammable also makes them very predictable. Every 4 seconds, you get hit with x damage. If your life is below x, heal. So it's really hard to do anything offensive in a lane. My second game I went 16-4-9 just by buying the obvious items and just rocket jumping and right clicking people.
Lane control is also a joke: your options are either to not last hit, to push the lane, or to push the lane a lot. Last hitting is a joke, for that matter. By level 3 you're doing something like 8 times what a creep does. I'd barely miss some of them and my second attack would hit before the creeps finished him off. And because there's no denying, there's no fakes that can result in harass: you hit his creeps, he hits your creeps. If you advance, you're obviously going for an attack, you're not trading a hit on him for a last hit because you can't last hit the same things.
I like what they're attempting to make the gameplay more exciting, but there's got to be ways to do it that don't sacrifice intense competition. HoN seems the best step for now, I felt so bored playing LoL because it's literally use your spells on someone every time they are up and then right click them. That's the extent of teamfighting.
And yeah, I've started calling them Strife games, thanks to Tuxlar.

I personally found Denying to be a bitch move. I might actually come play LoL.

And then I'll disown you.
I didn't much like denying. Just cuz I could never do it and they could.
LoL seems more for the moderately skilled player. It's nice to turn to it instead of getting shrouded by DotA pros.
I AM VEIGAR!

Next you'll be telling me that you don't like last-hitting. The ability to deny actually allows you to play mind-games and helps you control the lane.
It also makes a game much longer than it should be ;o

How about we make an "Everybody hates Excalibur" holiday?
Whatever denying that is, I'm sure it's awesome.
Just like Ryze.

Didnt you say in your first post that you played HON?
If you played HON and still have no idea what denying is, then maybe you should be playing LOL lol.
None.
I worded that wrong, I have a faint idea of what it means, *correct me if I'm wrong,* denying means to, in some way or another, prevent your opponent from getting experience.
None.
Still, my point stands. If you didn't know perfectly what denying is, then there is no way you played hon long enough to make a judgement about it in comparison to LoL, and if you had played it long enough, you would have realized that it is better

I have played HoN. Twice. At a friend's house. Because my computer, sucks
THIS bad

Denying is killing something, either allied unit, or tower, to prevent the opponent to get EXP.
Towers were fine, because they still paid out. Hell, creeps should have paid out too, because by simply attacking, you should be gaining EXP.

The fact you can't deny creeps takes out a huge portion of laning.
I'd imagine the game to be pretty gay based on that alone.
None.
You get 2/3 EXP if you're a melee hero, 1/3 EXP if you're a ranged hero.
And obviously and as importantly, they can't get gold from creeps you deny.
None.
HoN > LoL. end of story. Get a new computer and play HoN with us.
